Has Anyone Else Had Thyroid Ablation? Posted: 07-31-05 14:46pm
I've been diagnosed with graves desease
and i'm scheduled for thyroid ablation in
2 weeks but i'm really scared. Is there
anyone else out there who has done this
that can tell me about long term recovery,
weight gain, etc.? Thank you so much.

:oops: :roll: :? I am scheduled for
thyroid ablation soon for graves disease
too and I can't decide if I should take
the pills instead (i forgot the name of
them). I have young children too so I
don't know how I can stay away from them
long enough to have the ablation done.

My boss had this done to get rid of her
thyroid she said that the x-ray tech
brought her in the pill and lead blanket
for her and gloves she opened the first
box and there was a second box that she
opened to get the pill then swallowed she
said she had to stay away from people for
three days sense she was radioactive of
child bearing years she said it made her a
little ill but nothing really bad good
luck to you both she has not had weight
gain balanced out she claims she feels
better than ever
