They do not honor their warranty
My wife and I bought Bragada mattress after considerable amount of time that we spend reading reviews and trying out variety of options in the category of coil less mattresses. We decided to go with Bragada given they were less costly then their Swedish competition and they appeared better engineered too. On top of that, Bragada bragged about their 100% unconditional warranty.
Ordering and delivery of the mattress was flawless. But that is when troubles started. We were not even a month into sleeping on this beautiful mattress when top pillow top made of wool started to bunch. As weeks went by, the problem worsened. To a point we needed to add several blankets on top of the mattress to be able to sleep on it. We contacted Bragada and they said to send them exactly four photos of the mattress. They will determine if it is defected, and if it is, they will arrange for the replacement.
It took them several weeks to “determine” this. When they finally wrote us back, they said they need to inspect the mattress more closely. They asked us to ship the mattress to their factory and asked us to pay for it. Given the size and weight of the mattress, shipping from Seattle, WA to their factory in Midwest would cost over $500 both ways. I asked them what if the mattress is found to be defective, will they reimburse us shipping. They said NO. They said that we had to pay for shipping both ways, regardless if the mattress is defective of not. I argued that their 100% warranty said nothing about shipping the mattress and if they could send local technician instead to take a look at the mattress. And besides we would not have anything to sleep on while the mattress was in transit, which would be for several weeks. Their answer was, and I quote: “we do not have technicians or local representatives and you can buy air bed to sleep on while we inspect your mattress”.
At that point it was obvious to us this is bait and switch operation. Once you buy from Bragada, you are on your own. To this day, they are not able to produce in writing where their warranty states that customer will be responsible for shipping costs, even when the mattress is found to be defective. They just blew us off.
In the aftermath, if we paid $500 more (which is the amount of shipping to Bragada to inspect our mattress), we could have bought mattress from Swedish competition, and had a luxury of the same or better warranty and local technicians in case we needed to have mattress inspected or replaced.
We will never buy from Bragada again. Thank you for reading this post. I hope it helps you in your decision process.
