Q: Period 11 Days Late.

I posted this in the birth control forum but I think I might get a better response here.

Hi there,

i have been on the pill for about 6 months. I had been off it for a few years but before that I was on it for about 2 years. Basically, i'm pretty comfortable with it. I usually know exactly when to expect my period.

Last month I started my pill when I got my period on june 27th. Usually I get my period 24 days later (on the wednesday of the sugar pills) in other words, july 20th. About 10 days into my pills I dropped one down the drain. I was halfway through my second week of pills.. So I went to the pharmacy to get another pack to replace the pill I lost. The pharmacist assured me it was ok to just skip that pill and continue on as usual. He said basically.. "don't worry, the pill starts working as soon as you take it. The worst that can happen would be maybe getting your period a day late."
he also told me it would be ok to skip a month of pills when I called him to tell him my period was late. Although now i'm reading websites that say the complete opposite, to continue taking your pills no matter what. :(

well, it's been 11 days now and still no sign of my period whatsoever. I took a pregnancy test tuesday and it was negative. I've never missed a period on the pill. I don't understand what could be going on.

Another thing is, this wednesday I had unprotected sex so now i'm worried that since i'm no longer taking the pill, that an egg might have been released and considering I usually have a 24 day cycle, according to ovulation calculators, i'd be ovulating between july 28th and july 30th. And I had sex on july 27th. But on the other hand, if I didn't have my period, it should maybe mean i'm not ovulating..

I'm soooo confused and quite frankly a bit scared. Anyone had similar experiences?

Thank you
-tamara

Missed period
Hello, I have some concern my LMP was on December 17th 2007. I have a 8 year old daughter already. I only been pregnant 3 times in my entire life. I do know that every pregnancy is different. It seem to me the more pregnancies you have the different symptoms you have for each pregnancy too. I think I maybe pregnant because me and my fiancee never use condoms. We both been trying to get pregnant now almost 2 years. Since I missed my period it makes me think I'm not pregnant because I missed before and was not pregnant. The only reason I think so is because I'm having a few symptoms lately. My breast are much fuller & swollen, my breast doesn't hurt at all just tender at times then go away. I have cramps like I'm about to have my period. My cramps are mild lower back area. My tummy looks very bloated too it looks different or fuller. Can someone help me with my concerns please. I know someone may be helpful out there?....
