Q: Lighter And Lighter Periods On the Pill

I've been on alesse for over 4 years (except for a 6 months stint on the patch) with no real problems. I've noticed, however, that since switching back to alesse from the patch (a year ago) my periods have gotten lighter and lighter each month, to now where they literally come and go in one day. It's a little nerve wracking for me as i'm in no position to get pregnant right now, and although we always use condoms in addition to me taking the pill regularly, these near-nothing periods don't sit comfortably with me. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem on alesse (or any other low-dose pill)? Also, can anyone offer any suggestions about a different pill I could switch to that might lengthen my period? Thanks in advance!
