My 14 year old son was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He has been on adderall for several years now for add. My question is twofold. Could adderall have had any causal effect in his diabetes onset, and, will it be safe for him to continue taking it now that he has been diagnosed? Will it react with any known diabetes treatments?. Thanks in advance to anyone who might have an answer.
