I Have Had Arthritis Since I Was Born Posted: 07-28-05 11:52am
When I was little, I used to stumble to my
mom's bedroom in the middle of the night
and cry because of my "knee-aches". She
would give me children's aspirin and the
pain would sometimes go away but sometimes
it would not. I suffered greatly when I
was little, as I did not know what this
pain was, and my mom was apprehensive
about constantly giving me drugs.
When I was 19 and in university, I finally
realized that all this pain that I had
gone through (and was still going through)
might actually be something else. After
learning more about health and illnesses,
I figured it might be arthritis. I went
to the Dr. And finally was diagnosed with
it, although all along he had been telling
me it was just "growing pains".
I am now in my 30s, and I still deal with
this pain, but I take ibuprofen about 3-4
times a week, whenever the pain comes on.
Sometimes I try to endure it, but I feel
very weak when I do this, and the pain can
become pretty brutal.
I have just gone to the Dr. This week and
I have had some blood tests for rheumatoid
arthritis..Can juvenile arthritis turn
into rheumatoid?????
I am worried. Thanks, dal.

hi dal!
I don't really know the answer to you
question but i've had juevenille arthritis
since I was 7 and now the docs call it
chronic arthritis. I had blood tests and
various x-rays a few months back and they
said the arthritis had got worse but it
wasn't rheumatoid arthritis.
I think the best thing to do is see your
doctor about if it can change from one
arthritits to another they will know and
will hopefully be able to tell you if
that's what has happened in your
situation.
Wishing you all the best,
boudica

Hi mis-dal
not to try and diagnose your problems over
your doctor, but it sounds to me like
maybe you should see a naturopath, you
probably have food hypersensitivities, and
leaky gut syndrome.
Nsaid's like asa, ibuprofen... Actually
worsen the condition and it doesn't get
better.
It can take up to 7 years to heal lgs, but
you can get relief from your food
sensitivity (if that's what it is) in
about 14 days naturally without taking any
drugs.
