Myelofibrosis
I hope that you have made contact with someone that can give you information about treatments for myelofibrosis. I was diagnosed aug 2001 and have had "stable" blood counts - hemaglobin (hgb) around 11 -until this fall when the numbers have dropped - hgb 9.9 end of sept and 9.2 beginning of nov 2005. I'm scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy and ct scan on dec 15th and will get results on dec 21st. And likely discuss transfusions then. There doesn't appear to be any treatments that increase longevity - except bone marrow/stem cell transplant if you are young enough. Other treatments simply treat specific symtoms. Like transfusions for low hgb. Do you have myelofibrosis? Some close to you? Dayxday
