Q: Cracked Tongue!

Since as far back as I can remember, i've had a tongue that has a whole bunch of cracks on it. It has a pretty big one right down the middle, a bunch of little slits on the sides. When I was born the doctor told my mom that I have a geographical tongue but i've looked up what a geographical tongue is and realized that at one time I had it but not anymore. Now it's just a bunch of cracks. There isn't anything on any website about a cracked tongue so I wondered if anybody can tell me why I have it or much less anything about it at all. Also, no it doesn't hurt at all, i'd just like to know what it is.

I to have a tongue with same crackings as you all. Doctor said Geographical Tongue is what it is called. Right now mine is burning like it is on fire and has been for 2 months. My gums burns and the palate of my mouth off and on. I am fed up with it 3 doctors and non did anything. Thinking of going to UCSF a specialist there about it. It is so painfull start early morning until about late evening sometime 24/7. Sharon

Tongue cures?
Dr. Katz claims he can cure it with tongue cleaning and TheraBreath Oral products.

Depends on he cause. Stress depletes minerals and vitamins, medications and other factors bring the onset, however, not certain that supplementation would reverse it.

Tim McMahon says he can cure it with his information:
