Hi. Im 17 and had my first epileptic attack about a month ago, and had an mri scan which proved that ther was nothing serious that caused it. However I now want to go on the pill and had already been perscribed microgynon 30 before the fit happened but had not yet started taking it. Is it safe for me to start taking the pill? Or would I have to go back to the doctors again 2 ask if this is the correct one to be taking?
Thanx x

I would call the doctor who perscribed it and ask if it is ok since you have had a seizure.

It is pretty common to have one seizure and you might not have another one ever. Hope this is the case for you.

Seizures & the Pill
I didn't have my first grand mal seizure until soon after I was put on the pill... Previous to that, we now know, it would seem I was merely having petite mal seizures... One er doctor even accused me of being drunk! I wasn't even 13 years old yet!! Before that first grand mal I didn't even know I had seizures... Soon after getting taken off the pill & the first grand mal, they discovered I had an avm & treated it w/brain surgery & medication... I don't think the pill will cause seizures, I just think the pill triggered or provoked mine
