Shaving
Posted: 07-22-05 18:57pm

I'm debating whether to shave my vagina or not. If I shave it, will I have to continue to? And if I shave, how often will I need to continue shaving? Any suggestions on how to upkeep? Or any tips on how to keep my vagina soft after i've shaved? Thanks for your suggestions.

I think shaving is a bad idea. It itches like crazy and you can not scratch it politely in public so a nice low trim is better in my opinion.

I shave it's sometimes irratating and it's not smooth. But my husband likes it and it makes oral better for both of you. He don"t have to mess with the hair and you feel more.

From a males point of view, some of us love it when a women is shaved. It is better during intercoarse, and oral also. I am also shaved all the way and in order for it not to itch I usually have to shave every day if not every other day.

I used to shave it all the time, but my fiance' doesn't like that as much. So I keep it trimmed instead which I am starting to like better because it doesn't burn and itch when it grows back in.

I was a jungle; thick wirey and curly. My bf always suggested I shave or trim, but I was scared (at age 20?) to do so, becaus... How the heck was I going to shave off so much hair? It was really thick! So what I did was buy a pair of small scissors. Then I was very careful, and clipped it down to a manegable length. I then shaved the thinner areas like around the top to make it look nice, and where the hair trails down your inner thighs (i'm hairy! European genes!)

i always itch right afterwards :p and it is very annoying, but the itching usually goes away in a day or two.

But now I feel a lot cleaner, and prettier :d

I've been shaving since I was about 15 or 16. Yes regrowth (even a bit of stubble) is itchy when you first start out but you'll get used to it and soon it will become nothing. It's like learning to wear a thong. Just one of those that seems to uncomfortable but you get used to it and eventually you don't want to go without it! Haha. If you have a bush I suggest trimming it down before you shave (you don't want to clog up or dull your razor). Go with the grain (the direction the hair grows) and be very careful. Avoid constantly stroking the same area because that will cause irritation. Stretch your skin if you need to (which I find helps) and then a few strokes should do ya. Also it's a good idea to only shave one a week for your first month. I used to shave with a normal razor (2 or 3 blades) and shaving gel but I really like schick intuition (even though it's a bit overpriced and runs out too fast. But I alternate between it and a normal razor and gel for my legs) for that area.

I shave, it doesnt itch for me. I shave every 3 days. I shave the top, not all of it lol. For the part I dont shave I trim down to a decent level. And I shave the more difficult part, the lower region. My boyfriend likes it alot. Its a little more trouble but it feels alot better than having a bush lol. Keeping it smooth tho might mean you ahve to shave it more.

Ok this is pretty random but still related to shaving. You know what is disgusting? When you can see a girl's pubic hair (even the short ones) poking through her bathing suit.

Ok heres something that might help you make up your mind:

bikini line most def either shave or wax

the rest.......Trim at least very short if you use suave lotions the hair stays soft not a thick nasty patchy type

if you wear pads and you shave and its bald it can irritate the skin

ingrown hairs suck and can lead to a big pimple looking bump that when popped can squirt blood and yellow puss that has a funky smell then you will have a bruise there

my man prefers trimed and bikini line......Plus if you shave it all off yes you must continue or take care of it carefully to get it to a better state and it will poke out panties or bikinis (soft very short trimmed hairs dont) and trust me I know this for a fact as well

i felt like a 9yo being raped when I did it for a guy.......Screw that

Nonscented Deoderant

If you shave bald use non-scented deoderant(underarm deoderant) on the skin itself. It'll prevent the itchy feeling and prevent the ingrowns. I've been doing it for years and it definatly works.

What?!

I posted a reply to pinkpassionprincess and I think it got deleted. I was only saying that shaving is very much only a comfort thing to some people like me, who can't stand to have hair down there. What's wrong with saying that? Geesh.

It's a very personal choice. There is a very wide variety of preferences on the matter. I don't shave or trim any of it. I have had a few partners for sex and oral sex, none have complained.

Personally, I think bald pubic areas look disgusting. They just remind me of children, which is pretty much the last thing I want to be thinking about during sex.

I feel a lot sexier having all of my pubic hair because pubic hair is my body's way of saying, "Hey, look at me. I am a full grown, fertile woman who is worth your erotic attention, yes I am." Wink

Shaving may increase the chances of getting razor burn, bumps, ingrown hairs, and even infections down there! Ew. So if you do try shaving, and it disagrees with you, you can try leaving it intact, trimming, or waxing instead.

I hate shaving, I use an electric razor and just trim it up to a nice manageable size. I shave around the edges (bikini line) only.

The only thing is, try not to trim it so short it resembles stubble, because that's not comfortable for him lol.

Yeah, if you trim, leave at least a centimeter or more of hair. Then you have soft, fuzzy and manageable pubes Smile
