I have a 17 year old stepson that live with us and has as. I would love to have some input from someone that has as or advice from a parent that has been through this. His social anxiety, ocd, and attitude have us on overload. His behavior is just so unreasonable sometimes that I have such a hard time figuring out when it is involuntary or he is just being difficult. I realize that as is a nuerological disorder but it definately has effects on his mental health. I would appreciate any information that you could share. Thanks

I Have Asperger Also, And My Friend Son Also Have One.
As people say similer people attract to each other, me and most of my friends has one form of asperger or another.
My friend has 9 years old boy, this is what she do ,
she give special massage to activate some parts of brain, give calcium, because people with asperger usually has calcium deficiency in their brain, her child always sort of difficult child from birth she say , but it has improved quite bit with thos etwo thing and other therapy she go to, most of therapy is done by occupasional therapist , here in orange county , ca there are lot of specialist who know asperger and high function autism. Even though it is sort of new subject.

I have asbergers and I mostly learnt ways to get around it,
a good one is occupatonal therapy, that really helped me,
another is to get his attention on somthing like playing a game or doing somthing with him to grab attention to him, but then again I had all therapy when I ways young and I dont know how well it would work but worth a shot.
The effects of the asbergers on mental health, is a long as there are no really bad obssesions he should be fine, and many signs of it may be clouded by the asbergers so you got to be careful, hope tis helps in any way.
