Preganacy & Arthritis? Posted: 07-21-05 00:00am
Hi,
im a new member, so I hope that im doing
this right :)
i am a 23 year old female, I got arthrits
when I was four years old, I have it in
every joint in my body. The dr's have
never really been able to get it under
control, iv had, methotrexate,celebrex,
been on two trial drugs:remicade and an
unnamed one, and have had reactions to all
of them.Up until 3 years ago I was working
and studying, but had to give it up as my
body was unable to keep up.
I am currently on daily prednisolone, iv
been on it for about 2 years at different
doses. I have now got bone thining in my
forearms due to this, so we are trying to
reduce my doses again. I have also had
both my hips replaced in the last year.
With 3 dislocations in the same year, and
two operations to re-stablelise them.
I am hoping this last op will be the last
for a while, as me and my partner would
like to have children soon. I was
wondering if anyone with hip replacements
and/or arthritis had any informations
about how easy/hard it is to juggle meds
etc with breast feeding and also how it
affects your body, and hip replacements
etc.
hi, i'd just
like to say how brave I think you have
been for going through everything you've
gone through at such a young age. I
don't have any first hand information on
pregnancy and arthritis but had a quick
look and found some good links you can
browse through yourself. When you click
on the link do a search for "pregnancy
& arthritis" this is what I did and it
showed some good info.
Hope these help, the first one looks
really good!
