Cold/numb head
Hi, I first experienced this a few years ago. It also seemed like it was happening while I was asleep. I always thought it may be from sleeping in an incorrect position and pinching a nerve. I did develop similar thing after I had my 4th child (had an epidural and had the "cold head" feeling during it). I had a headache with aura for almost a month after delivery, losing almost 1 1/2 lbs a day! Dr. thought it was anxiety and lack of sleep and prescribed me anxiety meds (which didn't seem to help me sleep so I quit taking after a few tries). I also experienced "pins and needles" and a burning sensation in my skin. After a session of counseling and reading my Bible, I began to feel better. I have noticed that some symptoms reappear when I am really tired or overwhelmed. I think the symptoms that I have from fatigue and stress exasperates the symptoms and causes anxious feelings, not that I had anxiety first. So I don't know if my "cold brain/head" is anxiety or something else. I have been stressed, anxious and blue in my life before and have NEVER had any physical problems like this! Just thought I'd mention I have been having sinus trouble too as I do this time of year. I am sensitive to weather change and hormonal changes which causes my body to shift gears a lot! I will keep an eye out here to see if anyone has anymore answers to this mystery.

Ice water going through my head and body
I haven't been getting much sleep lately, I'm stressed out by a lot of stuff 2. It started out as feeling cold water going through my brain then it spread to my right side of my arm and then my leg. After a little while it started to feel like cold wind was coming off my eyes and sometimes my nose and mouth. my aunt who is a nurse said that it was anxiety. before that happened i've been getting cluster headaches and right in the middle of my forehead it feels like pressure is on it and making my head hurt and my eyes to droop, plus it doesn't help to have fibromayalga and arthritis.

I have the same feeling. I have it come off and on. I kind of got scared when I saw a commercial and a lady said she had a cold feeling in her head. But, it happens to me for the most part when I'm stressed and depressed, and getting grey hair along with the stress. Then it is gone for a long length of time. I'm a fitness instructor, and I have slacked on the amount of class I teach now. But when I was relieving stress killing myself in the gym teaching a ton of classes, I was not having these cold feelings. I guess that tells me to start teaching more or working out more in general.

Cold Numbness mostly In My Head!
Wow - If there are so many of us experiencing this odd symptom you'd think there'd be more information on it. I have not found anything other than this forum. And like most of you, if I hadn't found this, I would think I was either dying and/or I was Crazy â?? that it was â??all in my headâ??! I've been to the doctors so much lately that I just couldn't bring myself to present yet another issue.
This cold (extreme cold!) and numbness in my head, specifically at my temples and above my eyes (went from side-to-side) first started after leaving the hospital last year (10/0Cool due to a severe onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was on high doses of Steroids, so I thought it was just a side effect. It stopped after a month or two. Only this week (11/11/09) it returned! I have been stressed lately (I guess) but not nearly as bad as other times in the past--previous to rheumatoid arthritis though. I'm also just coming through a flare up of pain in my Cervical Spine because of (newly discovered) degenerative damage. But, other than feeling a bit hazy/tired and experiencing sleep disruptions, I can't say there has been anything significant. Oh, I did have ringing in my left ear (which Iâ??ve never had before) that went on for a couple of hours and just a day or two before this Cold Chilling in my right frontal lobe - over and to the side of my right eye started again! So, itâ??s the most prominent symptom Iâ??m having right now.
After reading all these postsâ?¦ the most common trigger seems to be stress - BUT why doesn't any of the sites (webmd, medicine.net, mayo clinic, etc.) come up or include it as a symptom/sign of anxiety/stress or depression?
So, if any of you come up with anything more please continue to shareâ?¦ And maybe if we all try to keep a list of the meds, illnesses (from colds-cancer), significant occurrences, foods, etc. THEN post to compare --- maybe weâ??ll find some common factors that can help us solve this mystery.
Sincere wishes of wellness for all!

Okay...it's my turn. A few days ago I felt coldness...like water in the left side of my head...running upwards...like how you could imagine it would feel if...you had icy cold blood rushing out inside your head...trickling up veins. It was so weird...that I thought I'd better lie down at least...so I did...and nothing happened...I didn't die. So... it's been several days since then...and today...a new symtom...dizziness...and a feeling that is weird...cloudy weird... eyes aren't great at focusing anyway...(getting older...age 54).... but ears feel sort of funny... like I'm in a hole... if I move my head...I get dizzy....no headache....just not "clear"....feel off balance... weird...weird...weird. So...I took a hot shower and put on clean underwear...just in case...you know.. if I die or something... but....after reading all of these posts... I don't think I'm going to die... except now that I think about it...no one has come back to say how they are doing...now....so maybe everyone on here is dead... please tell me it isn't soooooo.....=(

cold draughty trickly head
Hi everyone, I can only echo the symptons you all describe. For the last 3 months or more, sudden sensation of cold draughty breeze, like a cold fan on top/front head, sometimes fizziness, or slight tenseness or cold trickle like internal leaking tap. Put my hand on my head as if to warm it up- well I'll try cheapest remedy first!, occassional pressure behind eye, feel like ear needs to pop sensation. Hubby snores so sleep always disturbed (its 4.30am!), YES I am stressed @ work (snr manager) 3-4hrs day driving to/from work (rough), I have lots of pain from spinal condition & arthritis, some numbness in fingers/toes but due to other problems which I am aware of (had MRI and seeing neuro in Jan 2010). Poss some minor sinus issues, poor appetite, 3 kids, teenage daughter off rails, so lifes a struggle anyway- my god sounds like I must be stressed! Now taking really g8 supplements for other problems and they work, hardly any tremors in my arms now yippee. But i wonder if above symptons are side-effec of my vitamins/minerals taking since july 2009? I worry as NONE of you come back months later saying all fine now!! So update us pl are u all still alive, better, diagnosed, treated cured? Any medics with advice? We need to help each other with advice. Nonetheless I still luv life & am blessed with each day I wake up alive - such joy Smile

It is so strage that there is not much abou this anywhere else. This is the first time time I have ever felt anything like this. I got lazer therapy and hypnosis done this week to quit smoking. I feel sick, my head has the cold feeling in the back..very odd feeling! Maybe it is some kind of virus or change in the brain. This is a very odd feeling!! Web MD says it could be from breathing more than usual which can actually be dangerous. That would explain it because I quit smoking. It can be triggered by anxiety which is caused by the hyperventillation.
