I am a sunday starter on ortho cyclen. For the past couple of months I will start to spot the week before my period pills. Today is wed. I am supposed to start my period pill this sunday 7/24/2005 and I started spotting, so I threw away the rest of my pills and started a wed. Period pill which means that I have thurs, fri, sat, and I will start a new pack on sun. Was this a good idea? Please let me know your thoughts

I'm on seasonale and for the first couple cycles I would spot alot (almost a full period) starting a week or two before my period and up until it. My doctor told me if this happened just to keep taking the pills as usual and not to change anything and it will fix itself. I don't think you are doing anything to bad, but it just would be a waste of effective pills. Maybe your doctor should switch you if it keeps happening.

I didn't think that it was a big deal other than wasting pills either but just checking with other people is comforting! I have been on both ortho tri cyclen and ortho cyclen and both make me spot. Any suggestions on any other pill to try?

Not seasonale! Lol...I've actually been lucky with it, but other people I have talked to have a hard time with spotting. Before seasonale I was on the patch, and before that mircette. I never had problems on either of those, but everybody is different.
