Feeling heat in left hip
I have been having the same heat sensations on my left hip for the past 3 weeks. The heat comes and goes throughout the day and lasts anywhere from 15-30 seconds to 5 minutes at a time. I'm not in any pain when it comes which is why I'm freaked out and concerned about it. I don't know if it has anything to do with me having a baby 8 months ago or that I had my gallbladder removed in April. I'm glad i'm not the only one who is feeling this. I haven't called the doctor yet, I guess, cause i've been waiting for the heat to just go away to no avail. But after reading everyone elses comments, I will definitely call to make an appointment first thing tomorrow morning cause I'm even more scared that it could be MS or a blood clot. I'll give an update after my appointment.

Heat sensation in leg
I have had the same problem and am experiencing it right now. I had this about 6 months ago and tried a different diet which worked. The only problem is that it is very strict and difficult to go on so I have been putting it off. I am now getting the heat sensation about every 15 minutes or so. A natural chiropractor took an x-ray of my stomach area and said I have yeast build up. About 9 months ago I went on a yeast-free diet which limits you a bunch but the pain in my arms and legs went away as well as the heat sensation. I have not stayed on the diet because of Christmas so it has come back. I am also feeling really fatigued and just "yuck" feeling and know it's what I'm eating.

Heat sensation in leg.
Well, here we all are. Most of us have the same problem. I've had problems in the past with Sciatica and THIS IS NOT THAT! The sciatica has been for 19 years, this has been for only the past 2 weeks. At first I was standing near the dishwasher and thought it was drying and the steam was touching my pantleg, but when I moved, it wasn't even on. Lasted about 20-30 seconds. Later that day I felt it again in the same place (outer right leg calf, between knee and ankle. This time I thought "touch it". It wasn't hot or cold or numb., but the sensation felt like I was standing to close to a campfire and my pantleg was hot. Again, only for 20-30 seconds. It's been almost 3 weeks now and it happens around 5-8 times a day at no particular time, whether I'm walking, standing, sitting, whenever... Only Heat, always the same place, and for 20-30 seconds.
Are all doctor's stupid or is this a new thing happening only recently to people? It seams like most doctors are guessing, of course thats what they do best... How about the first few people that started this post? Did they find anything new, OR are they still even alive? Well, I guess I'll go get laughed at by my doctor now, if I find out anything other than how much this jokes gonna cost me, I'll be sure to let ya'll know..

I guess I just joined a club I had no intention of joining. It started yesterday. I was serving pizza at a elementary school function and thought one of the pizza boxes got too close to my right calf. There was nothing there. It was so strange and happened a few more times yesterday and today. No pain or discomfort just heat. If anyone gets some answers please post them. I'm not going to the doctor yet because I guess it's not that bad. Just my own personal heater.

Consider me the newest member. My warm/heat sensation started about 3 days ago. The area is below my knee, basically halfway between my knee & ankle. The feeling lasts about 5-7 seconds and comes & goes rather frequently. I would say it happens nearly 10 times per hour. I notice it most when I'm sitting but do notice it when standing as well. I've no other symptoms other than a dull headache that has lasted for 3 days (not uncommon with me).

Heat sensation in leg
I too am having the heat sensation in the front left lower area of leg. It's been going on for about a week and a half. I noticed someone else said they were also having vertigo which I had for 2 days this week. I also have lower back pain quite often since a car accident, but no back surgeries. And, have had Shingles on my hip. Has anyone gotten any answers yet???

Heat in Leg
Well these posts go on for over two years and as of yet no one has an answer? I recently started experiencing this myself, lower left leg below the knee and above the ankle. Both my knee and ankle have been slightly swollen for some time. Hopefully someone will find out something soon.

left calf hot
Me too! Ugh - I can't believe nobody has an answer yet. Mine started last night - my kitten was curled up next to me and I thought he peed on me, but when I moved, my leg was dry and still felt hot (from the inside, not to the touch). It's still hot on and off this morning. Left outter calf, just like everyone else.

This sounds like a nerve root or disc problem coming from your back irritating the nerve to this area.

Because you still have sensation to the pelvic area and are able to pass urine then it is not a medical emergency however should numbness develop in the pelvis then you will need to go straight to ER.

However your problem will still need to be seen and evaluated by a doctor. It may be that you have a prolapsed disc which is putting pressure on a nerve. If this is the case then treatment is usually symptomatic and can take many weeks to heal.

Another problem which may cause the burning sensation would be a viral infection of the nerve causing shingles (Varicella Zoster), this would result in development of a painful, blistering rash and would require antiviral treatment as soon as possible, This will also take several weeks to settle with treatment.

Finally we must not rule out possible bacterial infection

leading to heat, swelling, redness in the area. This is treated by antibiotics.

So unfortunately we cannot be more specific with observation and examination, so you will need to see your family doctor.

Does this help?

Hi, I have been getting waves of heat going up my left leg, occur intermittently. I went to my gp and she said she had never heard of it. I have recently had an infection in my right foot and been on antibiotics but unsure this is related. I would really like to know why this is happening to me!

Warm sensation in leg
I've been reading ALL the posts, and there still doesn't seem to be an answer as to why we are all getting this heat sensation in our leg. Mine started about a week ago and is also in my left leg. I have a varicose vein a couple inches below my knee that has recently appeared. I'm wondering if any body else has any protruding veins like that, and if that is the cause of the warm feeling? Maybe I'll try the heat treatment and aspirin. Can't afford an MRI right now, even with having insurance.

Heat in Leg
I have it too. A warm sensation that steadily comes & goes (under the skin, not hot to the touch) in my right shin. It started two days ago while running with brand new running shoes. I thought it was from the new shoes. I normally run 8-10 miles twice a week. I also have a weak back that only hurts when I am standing still for too long - so the pinched nerve in the back is the first thought my husband had. Although as noted, my back does not hurt...

I'm the newest member of E Health Forum, and glad to be abord. My sensations started about a week ago as well, I thought it was nothing but as I was feeling my leg I thought what in the world was that! I asked my sisters have any of them experience anything like that and they all replied no. So I was a bit worried, because it has occurred more than once. I was standing in my room talking to my sister, I got that sensation, and wondered What in the hell was that! (Pardon language) I was just not prepared for that one. Anyway I explained to my sister what it was and she immediately wanted me to see
what the doctor says. By the way my sensation was warm to hot, and it occurrs in the back of my right thigh.

this is crazy no one knows whats going on. mine just started today and i pulled my back out yesterday up around my neck so it seems to be more than coincidental. it feels kinda neat as long as it isn't something serious i'm not going to complain - a lot of people live with a lot worse. i'm going to the oriental medical place for some acupuncture tomorrow. i will post if i get any decent info.

Hot sensation in leg
Mine started 2 days ago and I've been having a feeling of hot water trickling down my leg around my left knee and calf. I also have a sore back and problems with my sciatic nerve.
I am due to fly out next week and cannot get a doctors appointment. I think I'm going to have to buy some very attractive flight socks !
I will be very interested in any more info though.

Hi I have the same issue.I get it in lower legs.It used to be my right leg on top of my shin bone area a few years ago.Now it is my left leg along the outside of lower leg.I went to a neurologis the first time around and he tested the nerves(painful test) and all was well.
All I know it it seems to happen only when i have been consuming caffeine.so that may be something for you all to consider as well?

I forgot to mention....I have problems with insulin resistance. When I am healthy and my insulin is lower etc,I dont get the heat sensations as much.Tracking the occurences,I have found that mine happen the most frequently(and almost soley) when my insulin is rather high(I am considered pre-diabetic,the biggest symptoms being low energy and a crash not too long after eating) and am consuming coffee(which also has an effect of raising insulin)
Apparently a humungous number of people in the "western world" are insulin resistant/"pre-diabetic)
I wonder if this applies to any of you as well?
