Strage Heat in Legs
I went off of Effexor ER and almost stopped having the heat sensations immediatly, but have had some more on and off the last several months. I went on Lexapro and had minor symptoms but then changed to Cymbalta and am now having the heat sensations again and actually on both sides of my body now. I went to a infection disease expert because I tested positive for the Herpes Zoster virus aka "shingles". Some of it may be linked. I am taking Valtrex three times per day and take muscle relaxers at night which seem to be helping. I am now being referred to a neurologist. They want to make sure it is not related to MS which my older brother has mildly (it is very hard to diagnose). I will update if I find out anything from the neurologist. I live in the Houston area and have access to excellent medical care. I am 31 years old and in pretty good overall health. Good luck to all. - robynmomof3

I don't know if it is related...but I also experienced the same effects when I was switched from prozac to zoloft...it cleared up once the zoloft reached saturation...

Heat and pain
It is jan. 20, '09 I started experiencing the heat sensation in my left front part of leg, it has been three weeks now, and have had an MRI, came back clear, witch is great, but still trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Now I seem to having surges of pain travel all around my body that only last from seconds to minutes at a time. Im going crazy, somebody help.

Strange heat in left calf
I am so relieved to read this collection of messages as I thought I was imaging things. I too have the heat sensation for about 30 seconds every 10 - 15 minutes.

I am determined to find out what it is and will come back if I have new, it must be something going on!

heat in leg
An answer back to zigemyster, I did not see a neurologist, but did talk with one. And also come to find out, my Doc. neglected to tell me on my MRI that I had a sinus infection, well wierd thing is, and I dont know if this is related, but.... makes me wonder. Since I have been on an anitbiotic for sinus, some of the pain is going away and the heat doesnt seem as often or intense. So Im wondering if I have had just some kind of viral infection and didnt know it causing all of this. But I will stay in touch and keep ya'll posted.

Strange Heat In Legs
I have just started experiencing the heat in my legs as well. Mine is always on the right leg between my knee and my ankle. It doesn't hurt and it only lasts for just a few seconds. Sometimes it happens two or three times in a 15 minute period and then sometimes it goes hours before happening. I don't know what it is either, but if someone finds out please let me know.

Heat In Leg
I too am expereincing a mild heat sensation at the top of my right calf. It's not painful or even unpleasant but it is a little worrying that something more serious may be underlying.

Re:Strange heat in legs
Look up WebMD...I found the symptoms and it referred to a possible blot clot in leg, and should consult your Physician regarding it for further testing and possible blood thinners; I take a baby aspirin a day now and it has lessened but I still feel it once in a while. Rosegrdn: I would find a different Dr. if he/she told you they never heard of such symptoms, it is quite common with bloot clot formation and sometimes related to RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) which they prescribed Mirapex and that worked wonders for my RLS, not my hot patches in my lower leg.
I will post more when I find out what is happening here. Good Luck! Keep us posted also. Thanks everyone!

Strange heat in legs
I just started having this in the past month. It's only on my right leg, just under the knee on the shin. Noticed it first when driving and I thought a heat vent was on my leg, but wasn't. It radiates about the size of a hand print. Now I'm noticing off and on as I sit or stand. The heat feels like it is on the inside of the leg, nothing warm to the touch. Very strange. Good to find I'm not alone. I will be going to the doctor about it soon.

Anolther with heat sensation in leg
I have been having heat sensations in my right leg off and on for over a year. Yesterday, I began to have continual sensations. The sensations pulse for a few seconds and then come and go--all day. They center on my ankle and are also in the calf area. I hoping someone has found an answer.

Same problem...
Hello everyone,
I have been having the same issue in my left calf for the past 4-5 days. I am only 20 years old so I am hesitant to think it is some sort of blood clot. I am very active, hiking weekly and exercising. I was reading on another forum that some people with this problem have tried increasing their water intake and taking multivitamins in addition to a B-vitamin supplement. Some found that these B-vitamin supplements helped, especially if they were active as these are energy-related vitamins. I think this solution would be intended for those leading active lifestyles to give it the most possibility of working.
I'm going to try it and will let you all know if it works!

Heat in Right Leg
Me too!!! I have been having this heat sensation in the inside of my right calf for about 2 months. I thought I was crazy. I feel it all the time to see the heat is external it is not. It is so fustrating. I got on the internet to found out about it and no one really has any information about it. I am going to try the raising of the legs when sitting or sleeping and compress the heat to it. This is so fustrating...... I am glad to see I am not the only one with this problem. But I am also worried that it could be more serious then we all suspect it to be.

Thanks for this forum... I just wish it would stop it is drving me crazy!!!! Sad

I also just started with these 5-10 second sensations about week ago. I am so glad I found this post. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow. I too am sitting all day at a computer, and also cross my legs. Also I am experiencing hot flashes at night and thought it could be related, but I am not so sure now. If anyone has some new news, please let us know

warming sensation in left thigh abd buttock
The first time this happened I almost thought I had wet myself. It was so warm I had to check. It comes and goes, started in the back but now covers the front thigh as well. I had hoped to find a answer on here. I hurt my lower back over a year ago. The doctors have ran every test there is and can't find what the problem is. When I''m on my feet to long my legs turn almost blue. CT scan shoed no vascular blockage. I've had nerve test, MRI, blood test, bone scan, x-rays, you name it. One doctor said my legs turning blue is my bodies reaction to the pain from my back. The next doctor said It's all in my head and my brain is telling my body that my back hurts. He wants me to see a shrink that is suppose to help me train my mind to not hurt. Now I admit I come from a long line of crazy people, but we're not insane. So if I go by what all these doctors have told me, then my brain makes my back hurt and my back pain turns my legs blue. I've had about all I can take of work comp doctors that make you feel like it's your fault your hurt. Now this warming sensation has started a few weeks ago and I was afraid to tell them, for fear they would think I was nuts. So glad to find others who are having the same problem. If anyone gets any answers I would be so happy to hear them. I will let you know if the quacks I'm seeing take the time to find anything out.

I just started experiencing the same heat sensations on the left side lower calf. I'm using Plavix and take other meds for BP & Cholest. 56 yrs old, male, abt 50 lbs overweight, left handed. I had 3 stents put in my heart 6 months ago due to major blockage. I have no back pains but aching feet all the time. I'm generally inactive.. to much time on the computer. Any ideas??
