Strange Heat In Legs
i also got this sensation about a week ago. Also came up with nothing on yahoo search, but this forum. It was strange to read that most people have this feeling in their left leg, only one person i think mentioned the right leg. I wonder if this person is left handed? As i am sitting now with my legs crossed -the right one over the left one, i wonder if it is the nerve damage from spending too much time in front of the computer with the legs crossed over. I want to believe that because blood clot sounds serious and i think all of us should go to the doctor asap and then share the results here. I wish everyone to recover soon.

Heat In Legs
Hello Everyone.

I typed in "heat in legs" & google brought me here. WOW, seems there's a lot of this happening. My first thought was a blood clot. I am open to thinking it could also be something to do with my low back as I had back surgery in Nov. of 2005.
My problem just started happening one day, I felt heat in my calf & I mean....it's hot, like putting your leg too close to a heater or something. This keeps happening & it really freaks me out. If I learn anything else I will be sure to post it. Please, if anyone else finds something out, let us all know. Good luck to everyone.

Especially eHealthy
Raine--

it tends to be issues with pinched nerves or discs in your back. Thats probably your issue since you've had procedures in your back.

you need to talk to your doctor about finding out what is causing the pain. Possibly investing in an .M.R.I or an .e.m.g.

Good luck and keep us updated!!

Strange Heat In Legs
Ten days ago I got the same strange heat in my right calf. It was happening every 20 - 30 minutes and the duration of the sensation was 10 - 15 seconds. I was so grateful that I found this forum because this was the only site where I could read anything about it Fatfamily02's message draw my attention. I have read before that olive oil extract from St John's Wort was good for soothing sciatic pains. I massaged the place just below my waist with such an olive oil. I did it for several days and the heat in my calf started disappearing. Today I had the heat only once.

Heat In Leg
I just had this happen in my left upper thigh. Besides this post I also found an answer about the topic on the below link. In sum it said, check with your doctor but it could be something like a pinched nerve or fatigued muscle.

What the Heck Is Going On?
Thank God I'm not losing my mind!! I have similar symptoms, heat sensations on the outside of my left calf. And then I had it 20 minutes ago on my right hand. I'll make an appointment tomorrow. I have a great acupuncturist for a hip problem and I'll call him as well. Together, hopefully, we'll figure this out. I'll keep you updated. Thanks to everyone who's written. At least I can check "hypocondriac" off my list of possibilities Smile.

Strange Heat In Legs
A pity that all discussion on this subject seems to have ended with Linjan in December 2006. I've just started experiencing this "hot left calf" phenomenon and although it's not painful, it is disturbing. To the best of my knowledge I'm not suffering from anything and yet the symptoms Linjan and ctntn describe are exactly those which apply to me too.
Still no answers anyone?

Strange Heat In Legs
Now that my message has been posted, other entries have appeared and I can see that there have been several more reports this year. We can't all be wrong - can we?

Heat Feeling In Left Leg
For the past week and a half I've been getting the same thing that people have been posting on here. The heat sensation down the left leg into the foot. It's not hot to touch but feels burning hot on the inside. I went to the doctor yesterday about this and he told me to relax that I'm not having a stroke or heartattack that I probably have a pinched nerve. Probably? He said that If I still have this in a week to go see a Neurologlist. In other words I got no answers from him. Heres some history about myself. I just finished taking all of the antibiotics for Lyme Disease in which I contacted in July. Maybe this can be another symptom from the lyme or something that the Lyme has caused. I know for a fact that the lyme made my allergies so much worse and while I had the lyme I lost 35% of my hearing due to the allergies/Lyme. I had extream vertago and other symptoms due to the lyme which all havent gone away yet. Could this be yet another symptom? I need to find out what this is and get healthy not just for me but for my 4 children.

Heat Sensation In Leg
I also have this sensation of heat in my left leg! Confused It started two days ago. I talked with my MD today, and he is scheduling a doppler for tomorrow. It's just the weirdest feeling! I also have an oblong area above my knee (on my left side)..........lateral aspect, that has been bothering me for about two weeks. The skin over this area feels a little numb.....(not the thigh itself but the skin) and tingly. I've researched this and believe it to be meralgia parethetica, a not so rare condition. By the way, I'm a nurse, but this is new to me!

leg heat
I too experience this symptom. I had it a number of years ago while travelling via airplane. I had gout in my big toe area after that. Recently I experienced a blood clot in my lung. Upon admittance to er and scan of lungs and legs they found the clot had probably broken off from one in leg. I was put on blood thinners, coumadin being one. My legs started having the heat sensations again. Also experienced extreme shedding of hair after using coumadin. I am not sure but maybe all are related. If heat in leg is sign of blood clotting then one should definitely check up on that with doctor. I will do as the nurse suggested, which is preventative for clots. No long periods of sitting in one position, as in an airplane. Dont cross legs, keep legs elevated and increase walking and exercise. Other things apply but talk to your physician and use internet, it is full of answers. I also receive shots in lower back for pain, I have degenerative discs from injury, pinched nerves or back problems could be an answer although I have not seen anything correlating heat in legs with that condition. I will ask my pain doctor and see what he says. Prayer always helps, you know when all else fails they say pray. Maybe I will try that first this time? Cool

heat sensation in leg
Wow, these comments go back a couple years... I had a very hot sensation on the inside of my right leg between my calf and ankle a couple months ago. It would come on suddenly and last only for about 10 - 15 seconds. It happened about 6 times or so over a day. I thought it was wierd but never looked into it. Well, yesterday afternoon I had the same sensation but on the outside of my right leg right behind my ankle extending up towards my calf about 4 inches or so. It happened about 8 times or so over the last day. I do not have any back problems what so ever as I have seen other people post. I am only 30 and do not have any severe medical problems and am pretty thin. I do not sit at a computer all day, I am pretty active chasing my 22 month old around all day and running here and there for my 6 and 7 years olds. I have a full brother who recently has been diagnosed with MS. I am wondering if this is a neurological problem... It really scares me. Lets see, medically I have mild asthma, I carry recurrent mono but have not had it in 3 years and chronic fatigue syndrom. I have mild arthritis in my hands and feet (it runs in my family), Tylenol helps. Lets see... mild IBS, a small tumor on my adrenal gland (non cancerous), a fatty liver - which is wierd because I do not drink, am not overweight and have low cholesterol. Lets just say I have a bunch of small problems but nothing serious. Does any of this seem to relate to any of you? I am afraid to tell my doctor because it seems like I always have something wrong.... Embarassed I will keep looking online and repost a comment if I find anything of interest relating to this. I have three babies and can't be ill!!!!

heat ib legs
I am still experiencing heat in legs. I am clueless as cause. Hotdiggity l think sharp shooting pains in leg or legs is due to a ciatic nerve in lower back. Do you experience any back pain? I am planning on trying acupunture to see if will help block pain. This procedure I believe works on nerve endings to numb or block sensation I will let you know if and when I use. I am also going to continue this research on heat in legs. I hope the ones who posted in earlier times will get back here with updates. Thanks

Strang heat in legs
It has been almost a month and I still have heat sensations. It moved from my outter right calf to my ankle and the bottom of my right foot. I also experience it in my right wrist and lower fore arm. Sometimes it actually burns. It is kind of weird that it only occurs on the right side of my body. I talked to my older brother who has mild MS and he said it seems to be a neurological problem but is not sure if it is MS. He went through a million tests and said MS is really hard to diagnose. His wife is a physical therapist and she told me to staighten up my posture and try some exercises to help with that and to keep my neck aligned. Honestly, I do not think it helped at all. The good news is that it seems to be slowly going away. I will post again soon to update. I hope all of yall's symptoms go away too! Very Happy

heat in leg
I also have had a strange heat in my right upper thigh. It comes and goes but seems to be getting warmer. Find it interesting that Linjan has EBV. I have also been exposed to EBV or Mono by my college student. I plan on treating my comdition with asprin and heat conpress in case it a blood clot and vitamins if its from the EBV virus. Well See, glad I found this forum.
