Today I started feeling a very strange heat in my left calf. It feels like when you are sitting in the car and the sun is beating on you...Only I am inside my house and not in the light, or a very hot wave of air. My leg is not hot to the touch but internally it feels like it is burning up! Each incident lasts from 1 to 2 minutes and happens every 10 to 15 minutes. This is very strange and has never happened to me before. If this has happened to you and you know what is causing it please let me know!

Re: Strange Heat/ In Legs
I know what you are talking about. Mine started on july 14. It woke me up in the middle of the night and lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then it went away and came back in a week. Since the 26th of july I have had this burning coming and going everyday. But mine is on the top part of my leg. It feels like a match is getting closer and closer till it becomes intense. It lasted from a few seconds up to 15 minutes, day and night. I don't know what this is yet. But I have a doctor's appointment this weekend. I hope I find out something and that they can help me. If I find out anything i'll let you know.

Re: Strange Heat/ In Legs
Well I went to my doctor this past saturday. She seems to think I have a pinched nerve in the lower part of my back. She said she never heard of anything like what I was telling her ( burning pain in my leg). So she's sending me for an mri tomorrow. Let you know later what I find out.

Heat In Legss
I was wondering if anyone ever found out what this was. Today I started having the heat sensation in my left leg and it has not gone away. This is the only place I found online that had this info. I have to take a flight on the 2nd and don't have time to go to the Dr. Until I get back home, so I was just wondering if you might have found out what it is... Thanks

Heat On My Hip
I've had the same sensation on my right hip. It feels like there is heat on it but there is nothing. I don't have any pain, just the feeling of heat. If I touch it, it doesn't feel hot. Has anyone found out what this is?

Heat In Leg
Has anyone found out what the sensation of heat in our legs is? I went to the doctor yesterday, a rhemotologist, because I have lupus, and they just looked at me funny. Did an x-ray and a doppler scan (due to increase risk of blood clots = lupus) and said everything looked good. I also have heat behind my eye....This is just an odd set of symptoms.
Thanks for any feedback you have.

Heat In Legs
I also have been having a weird heat in my right calf! On the surface of the skin, I also seem to have a red lesion forming. It is small, but I have no idea what it is caused by or if it is related to this odd heat.
Has the heat in any of your legs gone away? Does anyone have any other info?

Possible Answer to Everyone's ?
I am a nursing student and what many of you are describing might be the presence of a blood clot in the leg. These blood clots can be minor or serious. Normally the blood clot will dissolve itself, but if there is major swelling, redness and pain seek medical help (you will need to be put on a clot buster). If there is no swelling/reddness and you suspect a blood clot b/c of the sensation of heat, try a warm compress to the area (dialate blood vessels), aspirin (thin blood), and leg elevation to help your body dissolve the superficial clot.

Heat In Leg
I have recently been experiencing a heat sensation in my left leg. This happens mostly in the evening and only lasts for about a minute. I was considering going to my doctor but felt that he would probably just laugh it off but since reading that it may be a blood clot this has now really worried me. I must make an appointment soon as I used to suffer with high blood pressure, off to the chemist now to buy some asprin.

I myself felt the same sensation last night in bed... I did not have any covers on me at the time and no heat was coming out of any vents. I got up to check around the bed and there was no other source of heat. I laid back down and could feel a painless burning sensation. As if I had a heater layed in front of my legs. I then tried to go to bed and got under the covers but that made it worse because the heat then tripled because it was being trapped underneath the covers so it became even more warm....Actually hot!
It doesn't seem normal by any means. I read one reply where someone commented on a possible blood clot? Though it radiated more from my knees and lower legs (top) than the entire. This is also the first things I have come across in my 2 hour search on what that could possibly be. I was diagnosed by my rheumatologist about 2 months ago with fibralmyalgia. Could that be a cause?

Strange Heat Sensation
So I am not imagining things. It started in november with this weird heat sensation on the outer side of the left calf. Funny how most people have it on the left side. I have tested positive for both glandular fever and ross river virus in the past 12 months. Except for the chronic fatigue, achey body and this weird heat sensation I am absolutely healthy. Fbc are all normal, ct scans normal everything normal.
The heat sensation can happen while lying, sitting, walking and running. What is it? Good question! Stressed yes!
