Q: Twins??

I was wondering if it sounds like I may be having twins...

I am only 7 weeks preg (sometime this week it will be 7) and I have already gained weight...Which is weird cause I haven't even been eating as much as I normally do, just simply because food is gross right now (lol). But my mom was looking at me at the mall yesterday and was like I think you're having twins! How could you do this to me?? Lol.

Just wondering if people who are carrying twins start showing weight at 6-7 weeks. Thanks!

I started showing early also...I'm only a little over 9 weeks now and have now been in maternity clothes for a couple of weeks. I went into the doctors when I was only a little over 5 weeks and we only heard 1 heartbeat...But my best friend is a twin and he mother told me that she couldn't hear 2 heartbeats and didn't know she was pregnant for twins until her 5th month of pregnancy. So I guess i'm not much help, but some people just show rather early than others...My sister did also.

it's not impossible to hear the baby's heartbeat, it's just real slow beating. He measured me and I was 5 weeks and 3 days along at the time. They had to do an internal ultra sound because they thought that I might be having a tubal pregnancy because I had a lot of pain in my lower abdomen. Yeah...I'm already in maternity clothes...Can't fit into any of my clothes and i'll be 10 weeks on friday...I'm getting big fast, my sister and mom showed real early in their pregnancies also...So it's not abnormal for our family! :) but it's definitely not impossible to hear the heartbeat at 5 weeks....

Did a Little Research ;)
The bellybeats fetal doppler-baby heart monitor is a sensitive instrument that can detect the babys heart rate as early as 8 to 12 weeks into your pregnancy providing you peace of mind that your baby is safe well before your first doctor's appointment and throughout your pregnancy.

The embryonic heart starts beating 22 days after conception, or about five weeks after the last menstrual period, which by convention we call the fifth week of pregnancy. The heart at this stage is too small to hear, even with amplification, but it can sometimes be seen as a flickering in the chest if an ultrasound is done as early as four weeks after conception.

After the 9th or 10th week after your last menstrual period, you might be able to hear your baby's heartbeat at your prenatal appointment. Your obstetrical practitioner probably uses a doppler instrument for this purpose, which bounces harmless sound waves off the fetal heart. The way the sound comes back is affected by motion, so a beating heart creates a change in the sound that can be picked up by the receiver in the doppler. Whether you actually hear the heartbeat at 9 or 10 weeks depends partly on luck-the instrument must be placed at just the right angle. It also depends on the position of your uterus, and if you're slim or heavy. By the 12th week, the heartbeat can usually be heard consistently, using the doppler instrument for amplification.

it was on the u/s machine...They stick a wand up in you (sorry so graphic) and they went up to my uterus and found the baby...He felt my heart rate and checked it with the baby's...It wasn't my heartbeat.

Erin showed at like 9 and there was only lil tru!
Carrying big generally doesnt have anything to do with twins.
A lot of the time the first u/s you can tell if theres twins but there are ppl who are in shock when they deliver two babies. But thats extremely rare.

He he he koutrney... Funny... It's true though. Do you know what I hate when girls come on here and pretend either their pregnant, or they know what their talking about... It's just funny...

As far as twins are concerned, I strted showing when I was about 8 weeks along. Not i'm in my 21 weeks and my doctor said my uterus is at full term for a singleton pregnancy... I'm only a little over half way... I waddle... Lol

..
The babys heart beat starts beating 26-29 days after conception, your doctor cannot look at your heartbeat and find the babys heartbeat through yours, so your a lying little female part of the body.
