Please Help...need Some Exercise Posted: 07-18-05 03:10am
Greetings to all,
first of all, I am really glad
to find this type of site...With a hope
that I will get some help.
My friend have given a birth to a baby
girl. Right now she is just 2 months old.
Doctor has said she is suffering from
cerebral palsy, but they are not much
aware upto what extent brain has been
damage.
About the baby, she had not cried since
her birth. She is not responding to any
emotions. Her weight has not been
increased since birth and as well height.
She has opened her eyes and have some
movement of legs and hands. She is not
taking enough of milk.
I am really very concern of my friend and
her baby, so really seeking a help from
you people. I dont know about the
medicine which is she continuing but can
ask for if required.
I really want to know is there any
excerise or any medicine which can help
her to grow. Or any guide which can
help.
Looking forward for your kind help.
Warm regds,

Hi, im very sorry to here about your
friends baby. Im a mother of a 11 year
old boy who has cp. I did not find out
till he was 4 months old. He too was put
on medication (phenobarbitol) this was to
help control seizure activity. When my
son was on this med he was very much out
of it. He slept very often and didn't
move a lot. Maybe her meds are too
strong for her. Hopefully she will
outgrow them as she gets older and will
not need them as my son has. She needs
to get her baby in physical therapy right
away. The sooner the better! This will
help with her muscle tone etc. There are
different forms of cp. Do you know what
kind she has? My son is totally
dependent on me. He is in a wheel chair,
and cannot sit up on his own. He is able
to roll around on the floor. My son
stopped eating well when he was around 5
years old. He was very skinny and we had
opt to get him a feeding tube. Which
your friend may have to do with her baby
if she will not eat. Im not saying the
road ahead is going to be easy for your
friend. Takeing care of a special needs
child is very demanding and tiresome.
But these children are very special and
have such unconditional love. I hope this
will help your friend in some way. If
you have any questions im more than
willing to help if I can. Finding out
your baby has cp is very scary for
parents. I always try to remember that
god won't give you anything you cannot
handle!
God bless
you all will be in my prayers.
