Ovarian Cyst And Clomid
Avatar
I have been being treated for an ovarian cyst. I have had it for about 2 years and sometimes it gets a little smaller and then it just starts growing out of the blue. The last time it was checked, it was 4cm and my doctor was thinking about taking it out. I told him I wanted a chance to have a baby with my boyfriend and we had been trying for 6 years now. (i have 2 kids now so I know I wasnt infertile before.) the doctor said he will give me until august to determine whether or not he will remove it.

Now for my real question. I ordered some clomid and will start taking it before my next appointment. Has anyone taken clomid knowing they already have a cyst on thier ovary? I know it can cause cysts but.....

Did your Dr. Prescribe the clomid for you?? B/c I was on it for 2 months and had serious side effects. I have a history of ovarian cycsts but my Dr. Wasnt very tenative and didnt do ultrasounds like he was supposed to during the clomid treatment. I had severe!!!!! Severe!!!! Cramps for 2 days at a time while on this stuff that was like ovarian cycsts x 1000.... I had to quit taking it bc of the side effects (vision changes, cramps, etc.) if your Dr. Hasnt prescribed you the clomid I wouldnt take it bc you have to be examined a few times throughout your cycle while on it and if you have other problems causing the infertility the clomid wont do a bit of good....Either way...Good luck to you....

Dr. Checkups
Well.....I have been seen by the doctor about once every month for a while, then he decided he would see me again in 3 month which is in august. He had me on birth controll to try and shrink it but mostly all it was doing is holding it at one size. I decided to stop taking the pill because I want to get pregnant and my cycles were 3 times a month instead of once a month. . Soooooo, I bought this clomid on line through an on-line pharmacy. I know its risky and it kind of scares me but im at that point now where its now or never, ya know. I'm 30 years old :? I dont have good insurance so I cant go to a fertility clinic.

Sorry been a while since I posted....Anyways back to the clomid... Most women are fine while on it...But it can cause hyperstimulation of the ovaries where your ovaries swell up 2x the normal size and can cause problems... And they dont reccommend that youre on it longer than a certain prd of time... And (lol sorry I hate the stuff....) i've read of a lot of women that get that stuff prescribed to them by a Dr. That doesnt know any better...Thne a year or whatever later they find out that they had a blocked tube so the clomid wouldnt have done any good anyways!!! I would seriously consult the Dr. Before taking the stuff. Also did you know that you have to take it at certain times during the cycle, etc??

The doctor said because I have cysts on my ovarys that, that might be the reason I havent gotten pregnant. He wanted me to wait until this month to see if the cysts have shrunk any. But......Every time I go in there he says, well...Lets wait a couple months and see if there are any changes. Then the next time I go in he says the same thing. This has been going on for 2 years and I just cant play anymore games. He said he could refer me to another doctor that deals with this kind of thing(reproductive) but ive heard bad things about him and he doesnt specialize in that kind of thing. You know what I mean? I dont know. :?
But as far as the clomid goes, I looked up the "how to take your medicine" online and it game very good directions on how to take it. So I have that accomplished. Im just waiting now for my cycle to start. I cant believe it, I waiting for my cycle now and before this I always dredded having it come. Isnt it funny how life works.

ovarian cyst
I have been suffering from ovarian cysts for 2 years now and i am truly sick of it! Everytime I go have an exam it seems like I have cysts. The cysts are painful and have caused bleeding. I have been on two different kinds of birth control, which I am now questioning whether it could be causing my cysts. I have more doctors appointments coming up for the cysts, but at this point I just want my normal life back. I am now scared that my doctors are missing something, especially since this has been an ongoing problem. I am really confused by my body and the doctors, which is making it very hard to function in my daily life. Confused Confused

Clomid
I used clomid and I had no ill effects. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for over a year. My doctor discovered that I had PCOS and said it would be nearly impossible to conceive without assistance. I went from 50 mg to 100 mg to 150 mg. After the 2nd cycle of 150 mg I am pregnant!!! Praise God!!! I've read many success stories but I guess you'll have to try it for yourself to see how it will effect you! Good Luck!

ovarian cyst and clomid
I have been trying for a baby for almost 2 years and was told i have a cyst on my ovaries. My GYN said she wants me to have another ultrasound to see if it's gone, otherwise she won't put me on clomid.I already have 1 child so i know i'm not infertile as my husband and i have done all the relevant tests but i'm 37 this year and feel like i'm getting too old! I've not had no pain from having a cyst but does anyone know if it stops you getting pregnant?

Clomed and cysts
I have been taking Clomed on my Dr''s (gynecologist) prescription for two months now. She did regular ulta-sounds to monitor the possible forming of cysts. After the second month there was a cyst. I have never experienced cysts in my life before. She said it usually goes away as soon as you have your period and that if it goes away I should only take half a tablet the next month.
Yesterday, 3 weeks after my visit at the Gynecologist, I had my first appointment at an infertility specialist and she did another ulta-sound just to discover that it did not disappear with my period. Her advise not to use the Clomed, as it would ONLY FUEL THE CYST (3cm big). I am going back in a week''s time to see if there are any changes. She also said we have to get rid of the cyst before we procede with IVF.
I would NOT advise anyone to take Clomed without the SUPERVISION of a GOOD Dr.

Re: Clomid/fertility treatments
Hello dr12345

When I was 28 I got pregnant on clomid however the pregnancy didnt last more than a month. I have fertility coverage now and I tried everything IVF and IUI's after taking follistem for many years and didnt eve get pregnant. Im not sure why I got pregnant on clomid and not all the other more advanced fertility treatments. Either why I believe that you have to find that one thing that works for your body. Dont out rule clomid just yet. Try other fetility treatments see what works for you. GOOD LUCk!!! and God Bless

My problem was Endometriosis, not cyst related. Took Danazol for that problem for six months followed with 3 months of Clomed. Worked great! Result-Beautiful baby girl. Had to have hystorectomy shortly after giving childbirth, complication of one or the other medication...possibility, regardless I have two beautiful daughters.
