Q: Help With Prescriptions And Dr Bills?

My mom was just diagonosed with 3 types of seizures. They are really severe that they cause her to go into cardiac arrest. A month and a half ago she had a seizure that cuased her to die for a momment. The doctors give her lots of medicine and her doctor bills are extremely high. She cannot work and my dad is unable to work yet they get turned down for everything. Is there anything out there that can help with the costs. It is so hard to see them go though this and not be able to help them.

Help With Finances
Yo, i'm new to this site but it seems there are a lot of unfriendly types here.

Person asked for help why not suggest something & not get all down on her.

I have had epilepsy since 1967 & worked but can understand how some can't.

Been on ss for 8 years as that year I had status epilepticus that lasted 12 hours with a seizure every 2-3 minutes.
Kind if messed uo the thought process.

Lashawna........................

Try to get your mom on ss.
But she had to have worked a certain amount of quarters.

But try anyway as she may be able to draw on your dad. Not sure.

Then medicare would kick in & it helps.

If that doesn't work go for ssi which is federal.

Also, u can go for welfare if neither work & they will get the best medical card there is................. Medicaid.
Welfare could be a temporary fix till your dad gets back to work.

Just found this site & am dismayed to see every one coming down on u so hard.

If u have any questions contact me at address below & put epilepsy in subject line.

& if I was u i'd find a more "user friendly" epilepsy site to post questions at.

Is your father old enough for medicare or aarp? Have your parents talked to social services? There are programs. Can you talk to a teacher or your guidance counselor? They may help you. Don't lose hope. Does your family have a church that you go to or live near? Their are a lot of options. They just need to look. You shouldn't be the with the burden. I hope I have given you some hope. Wink

Perhaps this may be of some help

http://www.Brainxinfo/finance_1.Html

(cut and paste. For some reason the software capitalizes parts of the e-mail address. Execept for the f in finance_1.Html, everything is in lower case.
