I had my braces off since feb 2004. I've
been wearing a retainer full time since
feb of this year. Now I only wear it at
night. Does anyone know if I will get
through it faster if I wear it full time?
Or would that do more harm that good? I'm
not one to go against the doctor's orders.

It really depends on your age and if you
want them to stay perfect forever or if
you don't mind minor shifts
i have the top wire retainer right now and
the clear invisalign one on bottom.
The top is finishing its work but the
bottom can shift.
I will get a small permanent retainer no
one can see unless they shove their head
in my mouth on bottom teeth. Once bottom
teeth are locked top teeth stay perfect
80% of the time. (not a fact percentage
but an estimate)
at this point my dr said I can just wear
the top one at night to keep perfection
because top move differently than
bottom.
After I spent $3200 on braces, $2500+ on
fillings, crown, whitening, bonding, $1000
on extractions, and of course cleanings,
floride stuff, and xrays I want perfect
:-) no one sees you at night when you
sleep so why not just do it?
