Has anyone else on this site actually been diagnosed with hypochondriasis (being a hypochondriac)?

I haven't been formally diagnosed with anything. Not panic disorder or anxiety. All doctors I see tell me it is stress. Funny because I don't feel like I am under stress but I think my subconscious keeps harping over things I should either let go of or accept things I can't change. By my own research, I have concluded that it is anxiety because I have had all the symptoms of anxiety at some point or another. Now I am at the point where I don't even want to get another xray or scan because I am afraid that all that radiation for these tests will cause cancer. I have had several....They never find anything so I have to accept that I just may be healthy....

Mary, if you think like that, some time soon you will be free from all of this anxiety. I find it very hard to accept that there is nothing wrong with me and that I am perfectly healthy, simply because of the way I feel...

no, my hair seems to be falling out on its own...No pulling for me. Usually when I wash my hair I get handfuls of it. Everyones anxiety is different and shows up differently. I get alot of cramps, side aches, headaches, lightheaded, heart beating fast, intense fear, shakes, numbness, twitches...Stuff like that....
