Q: lupus test positive with hip pain

I have always been a fighter and a leader. Lately I have been weak and crabby. I have a 17 year old daughter and a 9 year old boy. Neither of them understand why I am so miserable. I have had a bout of "pain" that I cant exactly explain. Is this hip pain lupus? See I was tested for lupus twice. Both were positive. I have not seen a specialist yet. All the symptoms are dead on. I've been like this for a year now. Just now with this hip problem I have decided to get my ass in gear and get to a specialist to find out what's what. Is this massive hip pain lupus? Is my moods affected by this disease? Every inch of my body aches at times. My family is beginning to think i'm an hypocondriac. But I don't run to the doctor for anything. I just wine and complain about it and put up with it. Is it denyal? I'm afraid to find out it's either not lupus and that just opens up another can of worms. Or that it is, and too far gone.. I think this is why I havn't seeked out a specialist. What should I do? I feel like nothing but a whining little kid. Please someone give me some advice. Rolling Eyes

You might have read wrong. I am anything but selfish. I have avoided getting 100% confirmation of the lupus diagnosis. I feel if I avoid it it will go away. Just the last few months have made me aware that it's not getting better. But my family don't know anything about lupus. They don't know what's happening to me. Why one day I can walk and the next I can't get up at all. I know I have to go see a specialist, I just waiting for the appointment. Mr. Green

Family "mis"understanding
I had the same issues and I just kept inundating them with information from the web (reliable) and any information from my md's. They seem to understand more than my husband. I am constantly in pain and he gets tired of hearing about it and then when I just stop telling him I am in pain, my fingers are swollen and look like hot dogs and my wedding ring almost popped off my finger he thinks oh she is better!

The best thing you can do is to get as much information as possible and fill your life with positive things. This disease is ruthless and painful. I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Just meet with your doctor and get informed and accept it.

I was diagnosed for sure in sept. After three years of mds and medical tests. It was a relief becuase there is concrete evidence that there was really something medically wrong with me and I was not crazy.

I hope my response helps you.
