The epidermoid keratinised carcinoma is a malignant tumour. The tumoural cells are organized in lobules or belts. The tumoural cells develop malignant characteristics such as nuclear abnormalities and multiple mitosis. At the lobules' limit there are young, small and cubic cells very much like the ones from the basal epithelium layer. Towards the middle of some lobules tumoural cells elongate and become gradually keratinised, realizing through their superposition very much like the layers of an onion spheroidal structures called keratin pearls=epithelial pearls.

Sometimes epidermoid keratinised carcinoma have very big and numerous such pearls at the skin level. This type of cancer is less malignant.

The epidermoid keratinised carcinoma is resistant to radiations and metastasize relatively early.

I'm sorry if you didn't understand... :(... Please feel free to ask what you didn't understand.

As for your moles, they can become very dangerous, so please don't be embarrassed to see a doctor whenever you feel something is wrong with them...Doctors are there to explain what is going on with your body and make sure you stay healthy..Ok?

As for that site, I would appreciate it if you gave me a link to it. I'm curious to see the pictures.

And please keep an eye on your moles. If they change in any way (color, size, shape) go back to your doctor for a check.

Take care.

Good luck!

Thank you for the link....It is very interesting....I remember seeing this site some time ago when I too wanted some extra information on melanoma. I looked again carefully and I can understand now why you are confused. They are talking there about " seborrheic keratosis" which they call a benign tumor and identify it through those keratin pearls visible on the surface of the skin. I am afraid we come from different schools. I have learned that the keratin pearls are specific to "epidermoid keratinised carcinoma" and that they are seldom visible on the skin, and when they are it is a sign of a lower malignancy.

I am afraid I am not an oncologist, nor a researcher in the area. I only know what my books have told me. But it's not that important. The important thing is to keep an eye on your moles and see a specialist when there's any change at all....The doctor will know what to do next... :)

i apologize for having confused you. Wish you lots of health.

Good luck!
