Yes I Did Try This
Hi there,

i suffer with panic disorder and have agoraphobia, so my doctor tells me. I'm on lexapro at the moment, although this lifts my mood,i'm not finding it helps me with reducing my anxiety. I find the best way to reduce my anxiety is by being in control of the situation, and making decisions for myself, not being bullied into doing things on other peoples terms. This way, I feel like i'm doing something because I want to do it and not because I have to do it, which reduces my anxiety levels emmensely.

I have among many things tried the linden method, and although I would say that it's a good guide for anxiety sufferers and has some good techniques for relaxation, I still haven't got rid of my anxiety or my agoraphobia. I feel that the best method is probably neuro lingistic programming, which is performed by hypnotheripists , as this changes the emotions that you link to certain situations or stressors and makes you feel more in control. Neuro associative conditioning, and programming are the most advanced methods of dealing with these problems, and the most effective in my oppinion, as they teach you to forget the anxiety that you attached to a situation.

Any investment regarding your health or personal development is a good one in my oppinion, but only if you really have the finances, it's not worth getting yourself into debt over, as this just adds more stress,

good luck

That is great news.

I am hoping that I can contain my anxiety before I get house bound or before it interfers with my life. At the moment I carry on as normal and deal with the anxiety as it happens - telling myself that it is only anxiety and could be nothing else. When I first started getting sick I was hopeless I wouldn't even go into my backyard for the fear of passing out or something like that. I am much better since I had all my test done and they come back normal. Now I just deal with it.

Keep me posted how you get on, great to hear that you are getting your life back. I can't wait to get the program and get started

Hi i`m new to the forum but I think being able to talk about anxiety really helps. I have suffered from anxiety for about 6 months it started for me by catching a viral illness which affected my nervous system. I had endless trips to a&e convinced I was dying, day in day out I was living in fear, fear of the what ifs, fear of every sensation in my body. I was taken into hospital for scans of my brain and I had the most horrible sensation that I was not really here, now I know its called depersonalisation. I got the all clear which helps so much but the thoughts still pop into my head. I purchased the linden method which i`ve been doing for just a few weeks, everything he says makes sense we`re the only ones who can get ourselves better though its far from easy!!!! I don`t suffer from panic attacks now and even if i`m scared or fearful I do go out and I make myself do things. I try to get so involved in what i`m doing rather than dwelling on what i`m feeling. I may sound like i`m on my way to being "normal" but far from it, tonight for example I have not being doing anything so my mind has been wandering thinking up new scary thoughts, I guess we all have good days and bad days.

I suffer from depersonalisation due the constant high levels of anxiety which is the most horrific feeling, its hard to describe but if you have it you know how distant you feel, like a robot really. I`m on citalopram which if I had been diagnosed now I would try to have not taken them but at the time I was a wreck so it has helped. It`s not going to be easy but i`ve got to keep fighting. If anyone else has any experiences of the linden method I would love to know how you are getting on!

This is great news for me. I sent my money order off last week so I am waiting on linden method package arriving.

I have only heard good reports - I think that as long as you commit to it (and why wouldn't you) then it will work. Plus there is a 1 year money back guarantee, so if for any reason you where not getting results you could sent it back.

At work yesterday a book arrived in our book club called "changing your thinking" and in small letters "your answer to stress, anxiety etc"

i was so excited, took it home and read 200 pages only to be very disappointed! Told me how I was feeling but it also told me that I have thoughts that make me feel this way. I don't! I can be doing nothing and thinking about nothing and all of a sudden I feel really bad. Chest pain, dizzyness, shaky, disorintated etc - you know the drill. So I can't stop the thoughts if I don't know what I am thinking!!!
This is why I am so excited about the linden method - charles states this in his introduction and he has been through anxiety for year! How can people how to teach others about anxiety if they haven't ever expereienced it???
Anyway, keep me posted on how you go and when I get started I will post back on here how I am going.
Good luck

You won`t believe how easy it is what the linden method is about, I mean I read it and I was amazed I never thought of it before. I can`t say i`m seeing a new me as of yet but i`m certainly changing how I approach my anxiety. Today I have had a really teary, emotional, crappy day but later on I did exactly what charles told us to do and it certainly does work.

Anyway tomorrow is a new day and it might just be the day I take another step towards wellness.

I don`t want to spoil it for you so I won`t tell you what it`s all about but I will say that at first I thought i`m kind of doing this already it`ll never work but after reading it you realise your not doing it properly at all. Would like to hear from you, I hope it works for us all, a 96% success rate can`t be a bad thing!

Good luck

I am sooooooo happy for you - you are my insperation, now I am even more excited about getting the program. Well done mate keep going and make us all so proud -well I already am so proud of you.

I am still waiting on delivery of the program.

I have had heap of stress headaches lately and a bit of back and chest pain - not that bad that I can't keeping working etc but the headaches make me dizzy and of course the chest pain makes me think all stupid thoughts. Bring on the linden method!
I have a 16 months old daughter - my world - I am hoping that in between working fulltime and being a mum I can manage to committ myself fully to this program!

How do you go debs, what is you life situation like and do you find that you have heaps of time for the program?

Linden Method
Hi bek, when you get your package of the linden method, have a look at it and then work out after having looked at it how long it will take you to read, split it up if you have to,i worked it around my family(they are all teenagers, and then there,s my hubbie)so after doing the evening meal(after coming home from work)i would get all my jobs done then ask my family not to disturb me for at least an hour, this may be difficult for you with a young child, but you will find time, what about your partner or family perhaps they could look after your daughter for an hour in the evening? The relaxation disc you listen to is best done when going to sleep,i found it the best time to listen to it,it really does help, good luck and good health.Pip x

Bek!
Hi bek,

istarted today as always feeling crap and worried about my feeling of impending doom and although i`m not working at the moment the one thing the method says is to fill your days with activity. It`s ok saying that when you feel crap!

But I got myself together put on the war paint and felt worried and anxious but I got out there and I did it anyway. I have made sure I went out my house as soon as this started as I didn`t want to fear going out, it seems to have worked. I think exercise is my new habit, I do it everyday and I feel so much better after it, since i`m not allowed to go back to work yet it`s hard filling your day and resist the temptation to slouch in front of the couch.

It is soooo my negative thinking that has perpetuated everything but i`m now quite concious of when i`m doing it. I still feel weird but a lovely guy on here has been helping me with that. I think i`m less panicky but I am visiting a homeopathic hospital next week which I hope will help me find other ways of relaxation and ways to help me get through it. I saw a homeopathic doctor during my illness and he knew exactly what was going on, lets hope he has the answers to! I`m gonna e-mail something to you, you can let me know if you have it or if you want all the other parts. I haven`t started it yet but I hear its better than the linden method!

Take care
debs
