Pro-stat
If you need a lot of protein in a small volume pro-stat delivers a big bang. But why do you want to replace meals. In fact, you should eat smaller meals more often. This keeps you metabolism up. Cutting meals slows the metabolism.

Are you planning a gastric bypass surgery?

Talk to your doctor about your diet and exercise. Everyone is different and need different plans

good luck

Extremely eHealthy
I would not suggest drinking protein shakes if you want to lose weight... Usually body builders drink thoes to gain bulk... If you want to lose weight using the atkins approach (which I think is what you want to do. ) then I would suggest eating 5 small meals a day of protein rich foods (luch meats are great, low carb bars, chicken, hamburger meat)
if you want to use the shakes I would recommend the slim fast ones (they came with a low carb drink)

just drink a lot of water, exercise, and stay away from starchy foods. I would really recommend you reading the atkins book.

Good luck.

i agree. Protein shakes will build muscle if you are working out a lot, especially doing a lot of strength training. But if you are looking to lose weight, protein shakes may not be the way to go.

A protein supplement is nearly always positive, unless you have kidney problems. Now a protein shake is not the same as a mass shake. A mass shake would contain high amounts of carbs and a calorie base of around 1000-1200 calories. A protein shake would offer a chain of proteins (whey, milk caseinate, etc) and would be around 100-225 calories. Remember it is very difficult for your body to store protein as fat.
Also remember that there is no such thing as maintaining. Your body is constantly in transition. The loss of lean mass is the biggest step in a slower metabolism, atrophy. The more lean muscle, the more calories you burn watching tv.
I've trained men and women from fitness competitions to mr. Mid-west states. There is a big difference between muscle tone and bulk. As long as you are not lifting weights 2-3x your current body weight you are not going to swell out like arnold. Besides those guys are taking more than protein shakes.
I suggest a shake known as muscle milk as it also contains your lean fats, and tastes great.
