the Pill, Acid Reflux And Different Foods. Please Help...
Posted: 07-10-05 01:21am

I asked these to my doctor, but she said she had to do research and she would get back to me in a couple of weeks, but I don't want it to be too late by the time she calls me.

Is it true that there are some foods that affect how the pill works? If so, what foods?

For the past couple of days I have been eating right before I take my pill, and then after a few minutes I can still feel the food going up and down my throat (although I don't throw up, I still have acid reflux)... Could that affect how the pill is digested into my body to release the hormones? Am I still protected? I'm not going to eat before I take my pill anymore just incase, but I had unprotected sex in the past 2 days when I did and I just want to know if i'm still safe.

Thank you very much.

As long as you don't throw it back up, even if you have reflux it will still be digested properly. I have reflux, and have had it for years with my doctor's knowledge and was never told that it would effect it. The only thing might be to not take the pill very close to taking an antacid pill.. Because sometimes they can affect how certain medications are digested.
