Hard Growth on Scalp
I know this sounds crazy, but I also had a bump/sore on my head that would never go away. After going to the dermatologist, she suggested that it be removed and cut it out. She was shocked at how far she had to cut into my scalp to remove it. It was then sent off for examination and I later received a call from her that said it was bone! She said that at some point, a bone in my body must had splintered and the body will try to remove it and it apparently had done so through my scalp. I was shocked, but will be returning to see her again as I now have another HARD place on my scalp and wonder if it might be the same thing????

Bumps
I have had multiple bumps on the right side of my scalp. They're eraser-sized, as most of you call it, and they're buging the hells out of me. They seem to secrete this clear fluid. It doesn't really have a smell, so I don't think it's pus, but my hair is getting really flaky all of a sudden. The bumps are colour-less, but when you press on them, they hurt. HELP MEEE. Should I see a doctor? IS IT CANCEROUS? D:

I have a bump on my head and went to the dermotologist they froze it and said it was a wart. It then came back two times then finally didn't come back. I recently discovered it agiain after four months. I made an appointment to the dermotologist but my appointment isn't until February. I think it would be the size of a corn by then. I hope it finally goes away. I read on the internet that it could of come from an open cut, and I had staples in my head 8 months prior. I just hope it goes away, I'm streesed as it is...

I would also like to see you guys post your results from going to the doc if it was removed or anything wrong. I also have a small hard and tight bump on the middle of my head. I'm going to have a mole removed on the end of feb so I'll have it checked out too and post the results

removing scalp warts
I had an eraser sized wart on my scalp and I removed it myself. If you cut off the blood supply, it will die and fall off. I tied string very tightly around it and it fell off within three days. If you cant do this yourself, get someone to help you and just make sure that it is tied tight enough to block its blood supply. It should be tied so that its a little uncomfortable but it should not cause you great pain. It never grew back and now I dont feel embarassed when Im at the hair salon anymore.

bump on scalp, skin cancer concern
RE: Berly

I'm a 27 year old female with british heritage

I had the same experience. In the past eight years, i have had two bumps on my scalp under the hair that drove me nuts. It felt like a small hard ball was under my skin. Then it got hard on top and crusty. (So gross I'm sorry). It was pink in color. i kept wiggling it (So gross again!) and it popped off. You could hear a popping noise. (so gross!) The ball was hard like a scab but round. Had a dark line at the bottom. Seemed like my skin was forcing the accumulation of cells. Meanwhile, I have a small hole with blood left on my scalp. It scabs over and heals. Within a month its normally scalp and you can't really feel or see the hole. However, no hair has grown back. So I have tiny bald spots. Anyway, I go to a skin doctor and have a family history of skin cancer. Doctor said these are a type of tumor that can be benign for some and malignant for others. I recommend a visit to the doctor. (still haven't found a spot treatment for my bald spots. they are the size of a pencil eraser.. not a big deal.. but you know how us women are... Any one have any ideas or similar experience?

I know that you posted this article years ago, but the exact same thing just happened with my mom. She doesn't think it's anything to go to the doctor about. Do you remember what the type of tumor was called?

Bump on scalp
I am 26 and while pregnant with my last child about a year ago i developed this small bump on my scalp. At first i thought it was a bug bite b/c it itched, but the itching stopped after a couple days but the bump never went away. I asked my doctor and she said to just keep an eye on it, but about a week ago i felt another one. Same situation at first i thought it was a bug bite but after a week the itching has stopped but the bump remains. Any Ideas???

lumps on head
I am 48 yrs old and have had two lumps on my head for years but in the past year they have grown larger and coincidentally i have been under more stress. My massage therapist said he has them on his back and may be due to your body storing something such as an infection.(i.e. boils) Not sure! My doc and derm have both said they are fatty deposits and are harmless.

I had a bump on the top of my head, looked like the size of a eraser. It would bleed and go down and then fill up with blood again. About a year later it started getting larger about the size of a dime. I finally went to a dermatologist who with one look at it said it was skin cancer and took it off. I am still waiting for the reports from the biopsy so I do not know what kind of cancer and if it is taken care of.
I wish I would have had it looked at earlier but didn't think it was serious at the time. My advise would be to at least have it looked at if you are at all concerned.

I had an itchy part on my head. It itch so bad and best solution was to scracth and it would end up bleeding, have clear fluids comes out and scabs like dandruffs falling out. I even used that scalp itchy liquid, it stung and felt better after. I had it for like 3 years. Recently, i casually ask my doctor what is it? He said it was a WART. He burned it and now its gone. Now, how do people get wart on the head? I've been looking for answer why?

There are chances of it being a skin cancer because my uncle had the bump on his face and it was diagnosed as a skin cancer so I think you must immediately visit a doctor.

Moveable lump
People who have abnormal formities should seek medical advice from a trained professional, just to be on the safe side.
My little brother had a small lump (about the size of the erasers on pencils) directly in the middle top of his forehead. He still has it and has had it for about 4 months. It is painless, the same colour as the rest of his skin and MOVEABLE. I capitalised moveable because this is a very important point, as his doctor explained. Basically, if the lump is moveable then there is nothing to worry about (it is not cancer, etc). I my brother's case, it was only a hair folicule disorder and would only be nessesary to remove for cosmetic reasons.
BUT! Like I said earlier, still seek immediate medical advice just to know for sure.

Thanks for that last post because my bump IS moveable. If I was looking to get that removed even if its not life threatening what kind of procedure or such would they do? And what is "in" the bump? Is there a fluid or what?

Thanks
