Q: What's Going On?

We've been ttc for nearly 2 years - i'm now 40 and hubby 46. I've had 6 months of clomid and we've had 1 lot of iui and this last month my dr said we should leave the treatment and try ourselves - follicles too small.

I didn't ovulate till day 17 and my period should have been due on sunday 3 jul (day 28) but still hasn't happened. I'm getting a slight crampy feeling but 4 tests say i'm not pregnant. If I ovulated late would my period also be shifted back - I have been told its quite probable and that I should test again on friday (8th). Has anyone else been in this position?

It took my test to show positive a week after I missed my period...So may be you need to wait a few more days! I took 1 a week before I was supposed to start and it was negative, then I took one the day I was supposed to start and it was negative, finally I took one a week after I was supposed to start and it was finally positive! So it just might take a while to show up! :) keep your head up...And hopefully i'll be saying congrats here soon! :)

Thanks for replying - it makes me feel someone out there cares - cheers!

We've not been blessed with a baby this month - period started yesterday morning! Could be worse I guess, especially after what's just happened in london (bombs).

We'll just have to keep trying! In the meantime, we're getting another puppy next week (have 2 grown dogs already - baby substitutes!)
