On 3 seperate occassions, I have seen my brother take a small piece of aluminum foil square shape and then take a hammer and pound on it several times.

I ask what are you doing, and he says he is going to fix something
which is not an answer,?

I have no idea what he is doing, and I am wondering if it is drug related, something used for it

not for making a bowl for pot, I use to do that when I was kid

his behavior has me concerned,

any info would be helpful, and I am grateful for you taking the time to read this, I know this sounds weird,
much thanks

It could be crack , okay not cocaine because he could be something easier to use than foil. And pills the same. Probably used for crack to break the rock and smoke it :( it could be either of the other two not really sure but probably crack :(

He's almost certainly crushing up some pills. Probably snorting the powder.

If he has add and takes meds for that, he might be crushing up dexedrine beads and snorting the powder. I used to grind up dexedrine spansules, although I didn't use the aluminum foil. Of course he may also not have add, but he could be getting add meds from his friends. Some kids sell add pills in school.

Just watch to see if he's either gaining or losing weight. If he's eating a lot and gaining weight, he's using painkillers (percocet, vicodin) most likely. If he's losing weight and doesn't eat that much, he's using stimulants (speed pills, like adderall, ritalin, dexedrine.)

i generally wouldn't be concerned until he seems to look sick a lot. You might want to ask what's going on at this point.

Knowing drug users, he's not going to tell anyone what he is doing. The best idea is to either sit and wait a little (don't go to your parents!), or maybe tell his best friend that you have concern for your brother. And maybe his friend can ask him if there's a problem.

I think that may be your best bet. I wouldn't advise telling your parents right away unless you're really worried.

Lemme know how it works out! And he'll get through it. Eventually all drug users have to quit, especially in addiction.

I totally agree its pretty easy to get your hands on pills. At that age which is either middle or high school. Most teenagers will go for anything if another teenager says it gets them high. It could even be esctasy. Just watch him and try to keep watch how he acts. If he is sleepy or if he is drinking alot of water, if his pupils are big and dialated. See if he stays up late too that could all be signs. Its either pills or crack. And on either he is going to change his eating habit, on crack he will probably be real alert, very shacky, scratchy red eyes. And since the feeling doesn't last long, its easy to get hooked so he will if he hasn't already start selling things to get money for his habbit. And another way to tell if he is on drugs really bad is if he is asking for money alot or if you notice things he owns start disappearing this probably means he is selling stuff to get drug money or trading his stuff for drugs.

Just watch his behavior. And good luck I hope you catch whatever is going on.He's lucky he has someone who loves him and cares because alot of kids don't.

Keep us posted and you can write me anytime if you have any questions pm or email me.I have had alot of family members that have been addictied to almost every drug and maybe I can help you. I would be glad too. :)

i'm sorry I have to stop you there. What the heck does this mean?? No they don't I know many friends who have died in addiction. Many of them don't realize they are killing them self. I am also an addict and there was a point where I didn't care if drugs killed me or if I could quit just as long as I was high. The results are always the same for addicts; jails, institutions and death. So no, not all drug users have to quit, many of them just die trying.
