Q: sensation during dream

Had a strange experience last night, I was sleeping and kind of semi- conscious. As I was dreaming I experienced a weird sensation like my body was being drained, almost the life was being sucked out of me. I awoke pretty soon after feeling strange (tingling all over and my ears buzzing) and I was shaking a little.

Perhaps it was sleep paralysis?

This is when the brain wakes up before the rest of the body does. People who often suffer from this feel as though somone else is in the room withthem that is harrassing them, i.E sitting on their chests and forcing air out of them or perhaps been 'drained' of life?

Does this sound familiar? If so, it could be sleep paralysis.

Yeah I do suffer from sleep paralysis and know all about it. But if thats what it was, it felt different this time, very strange, kinda hard to explain, no pressure on the chest just a feeling as if something was flowing out of my hands and feet! Sounds strange and crazy I know lol, really weird and quite frightening!.

Did it feel how it does when your leg falls asleep? Iv'e had that a few times...I've never felt "drained" though.

P.S.-ive got sleep paralysis too, I think. Any more tips?

Sweet dreams

Hello
It was most likely a combination of a dream mixed with the odd sensations ya don't normally feel cause you're unconscious when they can occur. I had a dream once where I imagined my ghost leaving my body and looking down on it. I got an odd feeling like I was being sucked out from head to toe. Ever since then i've been able to reacreate the sensation on demand. It feels kindof ticklish and euphoric. Like when you are driving and you hit a dip in the road. Well, kindof like that :p maybe I figured out how to control a part of my autonomic nervous system. Also, a few days ago I woke up and one of my eyes was flickering like a tv set from dark to light to dark to light etc. Not the eyelid but my vision brightness. It was really fast too. Maybe ten frames per second of the brightness changing in my room, but just in my right eye. Really unusual to me. Oh and I don't do drugs of any kind ever. I've never been drunk, never smoked cigarrettes and so on. 21 years old and in great shape and I eat well.

Something I Membered
Sleep paralysis should occur in everyone during rem (heavy dreaming period) sleep. I couldn't tell if any of you knew that. If you're talking about sleep paralysis being a problem when it occurs when you're still awake and you can't move for a few minutes then it isn't normal but it is naturally occuring during our dream state though.

i get this feeling to...usually occurs about 20 minutes after i fall asleep... feels quite euphoric in my stomach and sometimes i feel it travel outwards through my arms and hands... its really weird ..in fact the only reason why i wake up is because it gets so intense the longer it goes on... its so intense it becomes unbearable....an amazing feeling though...better than any drug could ever produce....on the flip side though ive also got the night terrors/sleep paralysis thing before as well.... intense fear...the feeling of something in the room trying to somehow attack my spirit....so to have something feel good like this euphoric state is quite welcoming in contrast to the other experiences i have felt.
