Greetings.

My name is leo and I am from brazil. I am facing some difficult situation into my married life. I am 23 years old though I look like abou 19 years and I am married for 7 months. Since my wife, aged 18, started taking a special contraceptive, her sexual desire has decreased near to zero. This special contraceptive is used to prevent vagina bleeding in those days. She started taking this drug because some months ago her anemia desease was in high level and now, she does not bleed anymore and her anemia stabilized. However the side affects of this contraceptive causes lack of sexual desire. Me and my wife used to have sex for about 3 or 4 times a week before this contraceptive and now, we have sex about once a month or every other month. She feels sorry and cry sometimes when we talk about it and we rarely argue about it. I am completely aware that it is not her fault , however it hurts me a lot to sleep aside my beloved wife without not being able to make love with her. I wanted to know your opinion about this. How would you solve this problem?I wonder if there is a drug for men to take to decrease sexual desire as well in order to go on with life aside her as normally as we were having sex like the old times. Or maybe should I go to a psycologist and try to work in my mind and not demand my wife sex in order not to pressure her? I am doing fine however I feel depressed some times when my sexual desire is so intense. I really want to do something about it!

Birth Control
She may be on a progestin only, depo-provera? Which may not be the best treatment available, maybe an oral contraceptive (low dose) would suffice to keep things steady for her, even an extended-cycle (fewer periods) might be good like seasonale...(u.S brand name)
some heavy bleeding women benefit from a d&c where the lining of the uterus is cleaned out and it truly helps, also there's an ablative procedure that kills off some of the lining and as these are nonhormonal they should not affect her libido
you sound like an extraordinary patient husband and i'm sure you'll find some solution but you best advocate for yourselves and do your own research because that's how you'll get the best outcome

Menorrhagia
Menorrhagia is the term you need to research, as well as hypermenorrhea
