Commercial Hair Color And Hair Loss Posted: 11-17-03 15:23pm
I've been using grecian for several years
and i've recently noticed more thinning
than before. Could just be coincidental
(i'm 47) but wondering how I can find out
if its being helped along by the product.
If so, is there a safe hair coloring
product I can use?

Hi jerseyman,
i don't think hair colour causes hair to
thin, but more so damages the hair
folicles causing them to dry and split or
go brittle. The thinning of your hair is
more likely to be caused by the natural
ageing process. As we get older our
bodies produce hair at a much slower rate,
making it harder for us to keep a full
head of hair. Actually at 47 you are
lucky to have most of your hair, many men
who are younger than 47 have lost their
hair, and unfortunately hair loss and
thinning is more common amongst men rather
than women. These days there are many
good quality wigs and toupe's that can
compensate for hair loss and they come in
all different types of materials,
including synthetics (being the cheapest),
camel hair or real human hair which is a
lot more expensive, but worth it. There
may be natural medications that stimulate
hair growth, but that is something you
would need to talk to your doctor about.
