Do These Symptoms Sound Familiar to You?
Posted: 07-01-05 20:33pm

I recently went to the doctor suspecting that I may be pregnant. I had a test and it was negative but I still have a long list of symptoms. Some of these symptoms have been present since I gave birth to my son 21 months ago. He also took blood to check for a hormone imbalance. Apparently the results came back okay because I never heard from him. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar to you? Has anyone had normal test results but really had a problem? I am only 34 and I am a wreck! Thanks for the input.

Bouts of vomiting over the last two years

almost non existent sex drive

cataract in both eyes

no energy, fatigue

mood swings

headaches

sore muscles

pain in wrists , back, and knees

weight gain

acne

hair falling out

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a cbc done (complete blood count) to rule out hypothyroidism. Headaches, sore muscles, weight gain, hair loss, fatigue, lack of sex drive, and mood swings are all symptoms of this. As far as acne and vomiting, I have no idea.

Also, if you pcp is anything like mine, you'll have to call and leave dirty messages before they will finally call back with lab results. I would definatly try to find out for sure what they are!

Good luck with this! I went undiagnosed with an underactive thyroid for about two years, and I understand how frusterating and tiring feeling like crap is! I hope you figure it out!

It is frustrating. I have an appt. On the 19th. My doctor is actually great about calling with test results so, unless it was overlooked, no dirty messages are in order. Lol when you were finally diagnosed what did they do for you? Did it make a big difference in how you felt? Thanks so much for your input.

I just found out a couple of days ago, and they perscribed .25 mg of synthoid, which is a pretty high dosage. I haven't started taking it yet, but i'm hoping that it works wonders b/c lately I am feeling worse every day. I definatly need to find a new doctor, though, mine is rediculous!
