Hi all

i am new to this forum...I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who is depressed with their stretch marks. Before have ing my first child I was a size 10,after having him I formed stretch marks on my lower abdomen,it upset me as I had always had firm smooth skin. But 9 years later after having my second child I developed gestational diabetes,i then had added stretcmarks going up past my belly button ,down the tops of my legs and my hips. The ones on my stomach and hips are dark pink and big and the ones down the tops of my legs are thin white ones. I have gained weight too and am now a size 12 in some clothes 14 in most.

I have also developed cellulite down the backs of the tops of my legs...I feel very depressed about it all. I hope you guys dont think im boasting but I had a nice body before I had my second child even tho I had stretch marks, but at least I could still get away with a bikini.Im currently on a diet but love my food too much and am worried ill get even more stretch marks as I obviously havent much elasticity in my skin.Anyone have any ideas for if I can treat these stretch marks or tone them down...Iv read about creams but im not sure if they would really work.

Who else has the same problem as I do

I'm a 21 year old male who has had them since I was 8 9 or 10. I first noticed them on my side when I was 11. I moved in with my grandmother when I was 8 and she allowed me to eat whatever I wanted. Biscuits, three cheeseburgers at a time, etc. And needless to say I put on alot of weight, which caused the stretch marks. To this day I hate my grandmother. And I have never had sex(too embarrasing, plus it's just unattractive). That doesn't bother me, the part that bothers me is that I couldn't even if I watned to. Stretch marks are terrible. I can't believe they haven't found a treatment that works yet. I also suffer from depression. A big part of what keeps me from being motivated is the marks on my body. It's like what's the point of doing anything. But depression is for another forum....

Ps. I also lost the wieght on my own when I was 13. I weigh 136 lbs now, and I was never obese or even that overwieght.

the skinny on stretch marks
Ok guys, here's the deal. Stretch marks are awful. Some are hereditary, some are acquired due to weight gain or child rearing. There are countless creams out there that claim to diminish stretch marks. Most of them don't work at all, and the ones that do only lessen the appearance of the marks. They never just go away. So in order to keep our sanity, here's what we have to do. You have to tell yourself that the ultimate goal is for you to be happy. Don't associate your looks or marks on your body with your happiness. Say you never get rid of your stretch marks. Does that mean you will be unhappy forever? I know that disatisfaction with one's looks can lead to depression, but only because people haven't learned to separate the two. There are plenty of overweight, unattractive people who are very happy and well-liked, not for their looks, but for what's inside. So let's keep buying the creams and hoping something works one day, but don't let this get you down. Life is too beautiful to let a thing like stretch marks ruin you! Love!
