Mono, just like many other illnesses, can be spread through sexual contact. There is good news and bad news with regard to mono and your husband. The bad news is that mono has a 30 day incubation period so for a month after you have contracted it, you have no symptoms but you are contagious and therefore unknowingly spreading the disease. The good news is that if you have had symptoms now for 2 weeks and your husband is still symptom free, the chances that he will also get sick are probably slim. He should be showing symptoms by now if he is infected. It is also possible that your husband is infected but will never get sick. Almost everyone on the planet carries ebv (epstein-barr virus - the source of mono) in their system but only about half ever get sick. Your husband could be one of those people that will just never get sick from it. More good news is that like chickenpox, usually once you get mono you never get it again. I had mono when I was in 8th grade and in the last year I have been around 3 people who had/have it and i'm fine

hope you start to feel better soon - mono sucks.
