Tamoxifen Time Limit Posted: 11-17-03 01:22am
My mother has been on tamoxifen for nine
years.
Her health is generally good but, has days
were she doesn't
'feel right'
her doctors want her to wait until may
2004 then they are going to
take her off tamoxifen. I realise it has
kept the cancer away but, I
feel she has been on the drug too long!
Any comments I would appreciate very
much.
Kind regards

Not Sure But... Posted: 11-17-03 07:54am
My oncologist told me that 5 years is the
limit for tamoxifen because after that
point the risks out weight the benefits.
I am guessing there should be a lot of
info on this on the internet.
I have only been on tamoxifen for a year
so I am not able to compare side effects
with your mother.
I would tell her to do a little research
or maybe see a second doctor for a second
opinion.
God bless, and remember that jesus cares
for you greatly!! :d

I have brest cancer right now and I have
done a lot of research on this and
everything I have read about the drug says
that the limit is usually 5 years. So
maybe you should tell her to get a second
opiniomn cause that can possibly be
damaging her in other ways even though
it's helped her to be brest cancer free!
