I'm really sorry about your wife...I've
recently been diagnosed with epilepsy. I
was misdiagnosed by a neurologist for 5
years and the doctors now think that a
medication he had me on made the seizures
worse....I often blame myself for taking
that medication, because i've always been
into natural medicine, although I probably
should know that it's not my fault. I
know what your going through, to a lesser
extent, I imagine....The withdrawl thing
is awful, too. I'm withdrawling from
oxycontin in order to make sure that it's
not complicating the seizures and I feel
as though the withdrawl is actually giving
me more seizures....Ahh who knows. If
i've only learned one thing throughout the
years, it's that you can't put up with
doctor's bs. Health is expensive, even if
you have insurance, and if you aren't
getting what you feel you should be
getting, then switch doctors until you're
happier. Your wife's neuro sounds like an
fool...I wouldn't be surprised if you
could do a medical malpractice suit over
the issue with that plate- I haven't read
too much on surgery, but from what you are
saying, it seems likely that a screw-up in
surgery could have increased the seizures.
