I am a college graduate. I have a degree in computer science. No thanks to adderal which prolonged my graduation by many semesters lol. I am currently employed as a software engineer. My average daily adderal intake is (2-5 pills (20mg xr) 40-100mg) and this my friends is the meaning of adderal.

5 years i've been taking this drug. I've been taking this stuff so long I might as well have a bachelor's in aderology. Shiz for this post we will say that I do and I am a instructor on aderology at the university of shire.

It changes you immediately. While increasing your focus on the present you will forget the past and future. Well this becomes a problem because you are prone to repeat past mistakes. This drug is very addictive and very dangerous if abused.

This drug for some people improves social interaction while in others does just the opposite. Me personally, it makes me want to shy away from social interactions but as you become more experienced with your adderall usage you can overcome the anxiety, fear, doubt etc... Adderall is known for causing problems in relationships due to being over emotinal. A key thing to remember is that when you have a problem you can't solve or a just any problem you don't keep thinking and repeating it to yourself pissing yourself off, you realize that you need a sol
ution and it just isn't there right now so you have to move onto another priority.

Now physically this drug has 10x more cons than pros. It shouldn't be taken for physical effects. Yes this can make you lose alot of weight, but to do so puts so much strain and damage on your body its ridiculous. No one knows exactly what the damage adderall causes is, but from my extensive experience and knowing large groups of people who use and abuse it. I have concluded that it effects your vessels and your heart. I've had 6 friends who abused it very heavily(sniffing) and such, die from different cardiac problems. Ages 18-21. No symptoms whatsoever .. Well nothing different than the effects adderall gives you like rapid heart hearbeat etc.. However one did tell me a week before he had died that sometimes when he was sitting and then stood up he would see dots and then his visions would go black then get a headrush and then it would go back to normal.

Sex on adderall is an undescriable feeling... For some. If you can have sex which a large number of people cant. It is prolonged and just crazy. Just don't destroy your partner when your having sex.

Drinking while on adderall is pointless and very very very dangerous. You don't get the drunk feeling alcohol gives you but you do get the false sense of security thing going. I've never seen at least 20-30 people get alcohol posioning and worse from drinking heavily while on adderal.

Adderall and marijuwana are a mix some people prefer. You are focused but unfocused because you are high. Relaxed but alert feeling. This does increase your blood pressure quite some bit so not recommended if you ahve high blood pressure.

Adderall and extacsy are a fatal mix and should not be done. If adderall is taken before the xtc and they peak at the same time, you will have a stroke and very high chance of death. If they don't adderall makes xtc like 2x more intense. I've had 2 friends die from this. It looked very painful... But anyways there is still more info I can pass.

Adderall and downers has an effect similiar to xtc. Some people like it some people don't. I haven't heard or seen anything bad happen from this mix. Not saying that nothing bad could happen. One exception I have found is xanex. You don't want to take these two at the same time, I have seen people go insane and do some crazy stuff they wish they never would have done.

Adderall if taken in amounts over 30mg for a period of time will cause some people to get acne on their face/arms/back. Not very attractive, can and most likely will scar you. No your daily face wash will not help you lol, you will need to either lower your dosage or space it pretty far apart. Some are uneffected by this though and can take massive amounts and stay clear as day.

If while taking adderall you notice the coloration of the whites of your eyes begin to turn yellow, its because its putting to much strain on your liver and you should probaly stop or risk it failing. Never seen this happen before, but I am pretty sure it will happen just that other organs fail before it does. Is why you never hear about it.

You can find a million reasons to take adderall and you can find a million no to take it. Just know that it will change you, no questions asked. The way you walk, the way you talk the way you perceive things. Stuff you like while on adderal here is a chance you won't like off of it.(this includes significant others).

adderal can cause you to lose hair and teeth. While I am not sure exactly if its the adderal itself or people not eating while on adderal and the lack of nutrients causes this. The loss of hair is pretty common while the tooth case is pretty rare.

Adderal can trigger bad exema reactions.. Itching all over and burning feeling. Similiar to the symptoms of an allergic reaction. If either happen you should get medical attention either way.

Well this concludes my lecture. Take it as you will, this is the real deal stuff. I am not a doctor or anything.. Haven't even taken a first aid class.

Most people who first get on adderall feel like it's a life saver even though they get mild insomnia. At first the euphoric effect rules, you don't eat garbage, your work outs last longer and you get cut faster. Your grades go up and you don't mind pulling all nighters anymore. Coffee never did cut it. But before you know it, you're depressed, the adderall doesn't do what it once did for you. You stop taking it a while and still can't sleep and gain weight because you find yourself not getting the dopamine amped up like it was while on adderall. It's definitely a love hate relationship with me too. I'm finding that if you have something like xanax or klonopin it helps with the social problems that come after continued use of amphetamines. At first they're social gold and you feel like a big pimp and then you get nervous, go in fast forward, sweat more and really would rather stay at home and read or watch movies over and over again(that's how I got). And at first coming off of adderall is anything but harsh, however, eventually you feel like you're having the worst panic attack of your life almost every night coming off of it. Also, don't drink alcohol on it or drink very moderately. It causes twice the damage to your heart(for some reason every doctor has failed to mention this). I'd also advise taking a holiday every weekend or every five days so that you'll get the rem sleep you need. At first you look great, feel great, feel so much more profound and sharp, and then before you know it you're in a circular world instead of a linear one. Kind of like cocaine.

Addicted to adderall?

Man I see this and im scared I have been getting constent head rushes everyday when I take my adderall and I never overdose I have smoked in the past for 1 1/2 years I quit at the start of school that was about 1 month ago.... I dont really think im going to die im just 13 I dont think I would of messed my life up that bad yet. The only reason I signed up here is to try and find out if I am going to die... I told the docter who gives my the dope but... He just says its common in most people to have resent head rushes when first starting adderall I told him I have been taking it for almost 2 years but that crack dont listen. Now what you were talking about, about teeth and loosing them and... Dang my tooth just started to jurt today when ever I bite down it hurts bad still dose. I have gained I tremendance amount of nolage not in spelling as you can see but things that are broad big things that will help me along the way things that interst me I can learn things that I dont want to but when I want to I can learn every singal little detail like for the past 2 months I have been learning how to program in c and how to animate in maya I have really wanted to get into game creation. I started c about 1 month ago and my math teacher says I gave learned a year or so in such a small amount of time and thats just some of the easy things iv done.... I really wish there more people in this world like my math teatcher he understands what I could acheave no one els takes me seriosly like at micro center (a big cumputer store buy my house) when I asked for c and a book about it he was hystarical. But beside all that off adderall I am as burnt out as I was 1 year ago when I was smoking, on it im albert einstein. I want to stop but as you can see if I do I have to give up so much that I have grew to love, I dont think I could do it. I have one more question befor I go would any of you just give it up if it was what woke you up in the morning, helped you stay awake thought the day, learn everything you need to at school no problem with time to do extra activitys, helped you stay clean not a slob, talk to a friend or teacher>dang I spelled teacher wrong alot see thats where my adderall kicks in I dont even no how I remembered that it just came up }see that would u give that up?. Even if all these things u say are true I dont think ill stop I dont care if I die I just hope I do it leaving a name for my self, but that why im scared I dont have a name yet know one out of my country has never even herd of me, if I am going to die soon iv got to do somthing quick!. Adderall doesnt make you any more intelligent or less intelligent than you were before you have taken it. Although it may seem you are catching onto things faster than you would usually, the truth is you would have caught on to those same things just as quickly otherwise.

The only gain is that you can expose yourself to information longer because your concentration wouldnt slowly waiver as would a person not on adderall.

Many people have made names for themselves without using adderall lol. Its pretty much a gamble if you can make a name for yourself in your lifetime. Adderall puts your body in fast forward so you are putting some extra wear and tear on your body.

Its hard for doctors to assess what exactly your talking about when you say 'headrush' of course that may fall into one of the commonly reported side effects. Headrushes associated with adderall are symptoms of a significant shift in cardiovascular activity. More than likely a dramatic increase to one area. Technically I dont know exactly what it does so i'm not going to sit here and lie to you.. But I do know that it was one of the symptoms my friend had before he died.

He was an african american male and I believe I read african american males are more suseptable to fatal occurances dealing with blood pressure and such.

Btw: I am still not a doctor I am just a computer scientist =).

So to sum it all up, you can do it on your own if you actually wanted to. You making a name for yourself before your die statisticaly in my view on adderall is lower than you making one not on adderall.

Umm..... If you have problems focusing it will help your grades but not for longer than a semester or two. And it does feel like a smart pill at first, you've never taken if you don't believe that. I'm not lying, usually I laugh at drugs and say do whatever makes you function but not since adderall is starting to mess with me, I want people to know. It's ridiculous. You go from pimp, making a's in college and working out nonstop to.... Umm... Basically nothing. You get stuck. And it's the worst crutch ever. Many people have made names for themselves on cocaine, stephen king, sigmund fraud, etc.... Speed always helps people with their output. But you get stuck in a lil weird cycle you can't get out of. I still love adderall, but I don't take it every day, and won't take it unless I have a class or have to pull an all nighter now.

The main reason I make these postings is that I want people to know the facts i've gathered from my own experience and quite a few others experiences.. I had to learn alot of this stuff the hard way, i've lost friends i've burned bridges and I have broken alot of windows of opportunity. Broken more windows than anything... Foolish I was to have choosen such a path. It looked easy and promising. It looked like it would take me to where I needed to be. But I only saw as far as the eye could see down the path, I really didnt know what was lay beyond the horizon.

It would do people good to learn from others mistakes so they are not to repeat them. Although I have doubt these post alone will actually break anyones addiction, just dont go and repeat any of the mishaps I have posted.

lets say hyperthetically you were able to make a name for yourself. To top that off you gained a fortune to back it up. But in the end is it worth losing your soul as a result?

I Dont Really No What to Think

I mean I have been a drug addict for a while and now since I cant go back and change it and since my life and world is a little warped I dont really care if it gets a little more warped to become great. I mean just today I realized.. My sister is away at collage! And I havent made a good relationship with her and I new we would of hade a good relationship but shes gone now. I really wish I could go back this sucks.... :x why did I have to do this. Have you guys had a sister or brother go to collage and you not really notice them or hang out with them but once they left you realized you really liked them?

Figured :p I have 4 sisters and I never paid them any mind when they left. I have only bought one of them a birthday present in my whole life if that tells you anything hahaha. Dont get all sad though! There is always a chance she could fail or drop out. If not semesters dont last to long. Didnt know you were 13 I would have worded all that stuff differently doh!. You should be collecting pokemon cards not doing drugs lol. I guess there may be hope for you yet if you can program in c at 13. I can teach you some stuff too because I am godly at programming.

Adderall

I just started taking adderall 3 weeks ago. The 1st week I was taking the mg short acting, 2 or 3 of them. Then the next I got switched to the 25mg xr and it didn't do anything for me. I felt the same on it as off so I got put on the 10mg and I take 2 of those and I am fine. I don't let it play an important part of me it's just what I take before I go to school, and then the rest of the day I only take it if I have a test that I wouldn't be sleeping to study for anyway. When I read what people say it sound like they all started like this but it got worse. Was it because they were taking more or what? Are there any precautions I can watch for to make sure I do not get the bad results of this medication?

Yeah I thought I was this really great artist...I couldn't sell a piece if I had it down for 1 penny. It warps your sense of self and others..I hate my other half...Always have but he really lucky to still be alive..I quit adderall and haven't picked up a brush nor a pencil...Maybe one day I will but it's just not worth it anymore..

yes just make sure you dont change your dose without consent from a doctor. Also just if you ever felt a sense of euphoria from the adderall then a day or maybe a week later the feeling is gone this is what is suppose to happen because your body adjust to the drug. The drug is not suppose to make you feel good but rather focus you. You also may not notice the change but you brain chemistry is changing. So to cut to the chase just stick with the recommended dose and see the doctor before any change is made in your dosage.

the head rush and temporary blackness is just from postural hypotension :wink: it has nothing to do with any type of cardiac problems or adderall :idea: .. The dizziness/lightheadedness results from a decrease in blood flow to the brain because your blood pressure drops upon standing up, it goes away in like a second, most people get it from time to time from standing up too quickly

How to Take Adderall

Hi, I just oredered adderall and i'mplanning to take it for my finals week. I'm really scared though as I have never taken any drugs before in my life. I'm a sophmore in college and I have 3 finals in a row. I wanted to know if I should take one pill the day before when i'm planning to study and one the day of the test or if it's enough to just take one teh day before the test. The thing is that I wanna make sure I don't crash while i'm taking my test because that would be horrible. Also which is more productive to take the 10mg or the 20mg pill ? If someone could please let me know as soon as possible I would appreciate it so very much. Thanks in advance.

And Another Thing

I forgot to say lol, how long do the pill's effects usually last? Will one get me through like 6-7 hrs of studyin ? Say I take it at around 12 on a sunday to study for a test monday, that would give me enough time right ? And then i'd take another one monday morning. Thats how i'm thinkin about doing it. Is that ok ? Thanks

I feel that any drug can act differently, I have never taken adderall but I am sure that in some cases that it helps, it is just like I used to have a difficult time on neurontin and topomax as I have topomax, the neurontin brought ou more of thr fibro-fogbut it helped with the pain anywayand the topomax made me very sleepy at 1st but it helped and every med words differently on everyone you just have to know yourself and know what you can handle, use it if you need to but do not abuse. It is not worth going to jail or prison. Talk to your dr if you are having any problems, heck. Look at this meth mess among otherr things.

Adderall

I began taking adderall about 15 months ago. I was taking 25 mg, which in retrospect seems like a lot considering I only weigh 105lbs.

the first time I took adderall it was "recreationally" -- not XR that I was subsequently prescribed. It was the small blue pills. a friend and I were off to a jazz bar downtown and he said they were great to take while drinking, socializing. and he was right. I had a wonderful time. met a great guy (that lasted 1 week.)

I do and have always had tremendous difficulty focusing. when I first learned about adderall, I got this "ah ha!" sensation. like maybe if I had taken this when I was younger, I wouldn't have been such a dreamer, I would have been more focused on my studies etc.

adderall might make you lose weight. it will definitely make you zero in on a subject - but for me, there was a crashing period. around 4pm every day, I would just crash - the thought of going home and having to study for law schol further made me feel like I was trekking through tar. the effort it took to accomplish a task felt insurmountable. I was depressed, not writing any poetry, not studying anymore, just wanting to drink and watch movies and live in this stage inbetween dreaming and living - the high, on top of the world feelings I once thought I had gotten from taking adderall had disappeared. I had the permanent spins. I felt like a cartoon character - shake my head and it would rattle and spin.

but I kept taking them. It got to a point where I thought I *needed* adderall. like, oh caca, I can't go to work if I haven't taken it! So I would turn my car around, take my adderall and think it actually made a difference in my day and work. somehow I would be more focused now... because I've taken my adderall. but it didn't do anything. it's all just chemicals to further medical question up our brains.

Well, for all you readers --- I quit taking it cold turkey about a week ago and I've never felt better in my life. I didn't decide to quit cold turkey -- not really. I ran out.. and just decided not to refill it. And now, I have more energy, more willingness to do those annoying menial tasks -- dishes, bills, vacuuming. I'm happier. I smile more often. The little things please me -- like tonight's rain. I don't want to drink myself to sleep anymore.

all because of Adderall? who knows.. but be careful out there. all these drugs we pump into our systems -- it's not the way it's suppose to be.

adderall isn't the ticket.

Adderall Addiction

Well I have read the numerous postings regrading personal experiences with the drug Adderall. I have recently enrolled into Rehab from this drug and I want to educate others so they dont make the same mistake. Please take my advice for whatever its worth...some will remain in denial, others will see similarities between my story and theirs....and a few will have no idea what I am talking about as they have not reached the bridge of addiction..

I began using adderall in Law school. My girlfriend was diagnosed with ADD and was prescribed 20mg tabs of adderall. She began taking it and noticed an incredible sense of focus and determination while studying. She quickly let me know about this and so for the week of finals I began taking Adderall to study...That was 6 years ago. I dont have to tell you that it was love at first sight. I began studying for longer periods of time, my grades improved, and I felt like this was a miracle study drug that was (in my mind) made for students to take while studying. There were some side effects at the time like insomnia, lack of sex drive, agitation, weight loss, and occasional paranoia. But I thought that the benefit definitely outweighed the cost. I began to feel dependent and could no longer study without it. This put a strain on my relationship with my girlfriend as we were always fighting and suspicious of one another due to the drug. Well I continued taking my girlfriends pills through graduation from Law school and managed to finish at the top of my class and was even offered a job with a top law firm in New York. I left my girlfriend behind and went on to my new job. Well as you can imagine there was a lot of paper work and midnight reading with my new job. I managed to convince my girlfriend to mail me her entire monthly refill of pills for about 8 months since at this point she had decieded to quite because she no longer could deal with the side effects...she never did have an addictive personality. Well my girlfriend and I broke up and I no longer had the supply of my miracle drug and so looked for other means. Once I actually flew to Mexico for "vacation" with the priority of bringing back some Adderall. And when this was finished I managed to create an elaborate scheme to have a fake script filled at a nearby pharmacy. Well at this point I knew I had a problem. I had the common characteristics of drug addiction (1) I was looking for other drugs (weed, cocaine etc) to use in order to fight the depression that slowly crept in due to the overloaded dopamine receptors that no longer functioned properly. (2) I was slowly isolating myself from friends and family by destroying trust/ communication values with them. (3) I began to feel burnt out and my work showed (4) I had to take 3-4X the amount of pills to create the same effect the drug initially had on me. (5) I was involved in criminal activity with this scheme of fake Rx to get my adderall. .......It is now 6 years since the first time I took this miracle drug and the drug that took me to the top of career as finally destroyed me and brought me down.....I was caught by the pharmacist and reported to the police for fraudulent prescriptions. The Bar ( board of lawyers) was notified and suspended my license. And on top of that my health has deteriorated so much ( heart ayrthmias, frequent chest pain, shortness of breath with short activities as well as god knows what that hasn't shown itself yet) And I am only 32. I have realized I have a problem and am currently enrolled in my second month of rehab. withdrawel isn't easy and the road to recovery is long...I am on antidepressants and am trying to put my life back together,..Looking back I cant say I regret using Adderall as it has undoubtedly been instrumental in my success.....but it has also been instrumental in my demise and downfall. I am not sure whether the BAR will be easy on me and give me back my license. There are a lot of questions in my future...I am not even sure at this point that I wont be tempted to use adderall again. I do know that it is a thin line between drug use and drug abuse. And I wish I was cautioned about this fact when I first started to use. Please learn from my mistake and proceed with caution. I dont mean to preach...I just hope my experience can somehow have meaning by maybe keeping someone reading this from repeating history.

Worried And Elated...

My boyfriend of 6 years was diagnosed with ADD 6 months ago and put on Concerta (?). It made a huge difference in his personality and work ability, and now and then I'd take one on a weekend cause it seemed to help me clean the house and do projects I normally would avoid, like re-organizing closets. A few weeks ago he started going to another doctor that basically gave him every drug imaginable. He's prescribed Prozac, Xanax, and now adderall, instead of the concerta. I took an adderall last weekend, and felt amazing. I ended up staying up until he fell asleep just so I could sneak another one. Last night I took one b/c we were doing home projects and I needed the boost of energy. He went to bed around 4am, and I took another one. I didn't make it to work today, and when he called I lied and said I had a odd reaction to that pill and just couldn't fall asleep. I did take a couple of Valiums, that he's also prescribed, and slept for about 3 hours, but I woke up feeling jittery and speedy. I couldn't leave the house cause of anxiety, but I did a ton of housework. Around noon I found the bottle he'd hidden (we used to have a serious cocaine problem, but kicked that in 2005, but he knows I have trouble stopping when it comes to speed). Now it's 3 in the afternoon, I just took another half, and I'm dreading when he gets off work. I'm afraid he'll notice how much beer I've been drinking and that I've been smoking in the house and figure out I've been taking the pills. But every time I start to come down I get seriously depressed and decide a little more will be ok...sides, it's too late to sleep today, I might as well wait until tonight.
what's bothering me is I feel like I used to on coke....and I busted my ass to kick that habit. I despise coke now...but I feel tired and jittery and guilty and scared...just like on coke.
Everything is making me jumpy....a radio was turned on loudly next door and I think it took 5 years off my life. Does anyone have any advice on coming down on this stuff? I'm scared to take any more pills....would it be ok to take the xanax with it? I can't believe a doctore prescribes this stuff...it's like legal crystal meth!! Course he probably didn't intend for people to take it every 6 hours either...

People That Have Add Vs Those That Don't...on Adderall

OK...

I read all of the posts and the content is quite alarming. In some of the cases people have "diagnosed" ADD where others do not. I respect each and every one of you but any drug taken when not required will cause effects and can lead to abuse for sure.

I have ADD and have been on Adderall for over a month. If I crash and it starts having negative effects, then so be it and then I'll deal with it then. I feel as if I have awoken from my shell on Adderall. I have been a person who has fell short his whole life. I have repeatedly tried and tried and tried but nothing would stick in terms of effort to do some good for myself. Of course in some cases I would try very hard and achieve what I want only to feel as if I have to go through more effort than everyone else.

If you don't need it, then don't use it. For those that "need" or require some help...then it can be extremely beneficial. I don't want to sound rash but the comments coming from those who have taken this drug...when they shouldn't have are out of line. This is a health board...for healing.

I'll come on here again and post if caca happens...but for now, I am who I am without psychological side effects (I mean strange). Concerta messed me up a bit and people noticed (chatter box).

Ok, back to taxes from 2004 - it now finally makes sense....

Read my post under adderall worries in the addiction and recovery section. It is now Aug. 3rd and going on 3 weeks. I still don't have that sleep Med but each day is getting better! A couple more hours sleep last night. Not quite near as shaky but still feeling rough. Before when I was on it all my letters looked horrible! I had a 3.785 back when I took 2 years of college in my 30's and my natural gift has always been English writing, composition, etc. The last week I was on it my spelling was just like yours. I would miss-spell words and also, I got to where I could not string a good letter together for nothing. I forgot everything. Short term memory completely screwed up. The day I wrote that letter ( 2-3 days ago,) it took me hours to write it because of scrambled brains 2 weeks after being off the Meds - AKA - DRUGS. I am going to be 48 this month and if you really want your life back, getting off the Adderall is the best move you can make, but you have to get sick enough of being on it. Next, you have to have enough intestinal fortitued (bxxxs) to do it. This post to you took about 5 minutes. Just 3 days ago that letter I posted on Adderall worries took me hours and the spelling was horrific. It will get better. I can tell you in much more detail what more of the effects of quitting are, but it was worth it for me. I have getting my life back, but earning it from a fast-track degree in reverse adderallogy.
