My boyfriend of 8 yrs has had crohn's since he was 16, we're both 25 now. He's been on all the meds, had a resection, is on his 2nd ileostomy, had bouts with spondylitis and osteoporosis, has had and still has perianal fistulas, fissures, anal prolapse, and most recently developed 3 fistulas around his stoma.
I've been trying to find info on a current situation we're having but have had no luck. Of the 3 fistulas around his stoma, 2 closed up and the 3rd started to get some bright pink tissue bulging from it. His ge said it was granulation tissue. But its been about 2 weeks since then and the bulge has gotten more prominent and, in fact, looks exactly like a miniature stoma (about the diameter of a pen). It even has a hole in the ctr where it empties pus-like stuff every now and then. I've been trying to find images of granulomatous tissue/fistula healing to no avail. Has anyone had an experience like this or any resources to suggest?
