Something to Consider
I've worked as healthcare professional for 15 years and I have seen my fair share of colonoscopy images. After 24 hours of patients drinking GoLytly (a colon prep) patients colons are completely cleansed (meaning all that can be seen is moist, pink, membranous tissue0.

After looking into Colonix and briefly purusing their website I came to a very reasonable explanation for the amazing (or possibly gross) testimonial pictures I viewed. I will quote the website to explain: "The Colonix program does not require fasting...is a proven bulking agent that swells into a gummy, gelatinous mass when it absorbs fluid in the intestines, thus lubricating the intestinal walls and encouraging peristalsis and defecation."

There you have it! The herbs in Colonix simply bind to the food you are eating while you are on the program and, thereby, transforming your usually brown fecal matter into a bulky, gummy and gelatinous mass. It would appear to be nothing more than the snake oil of the 21st century. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I would recommend an individual cut back on high protein foods and increase their daily fiber intake to at least 30g a day. You'll be surprised how much your energy level will increase and your how much your belly will flatten.

colonix - rip off
Senna is a laxative tea, and you're going to get constipated when you stop drinking it. :s

Psyllium can be had at any store - even safeway. And of course you have to drink it with a lot of water. It's going to wreck you if you don't.

You know why your stuff looks colored and comes out looking like, well, your intestines? It's because it binds to your colon and makes "sludge" and loosens stool and comes out that way. Razz

Tip: Learn how to drink water (at room temp), get some Metamucil fiber wafers and some psyllium tablets.

Don't drink tap water - get a filter.

Watch poo come out.

Save $60.
Very Happy

Colon Cleansing
First, I'd like to hear from someone over the age of 50 who has used the Colonix cleansing program, with positive results. Next, I'd like to hear from someone like myself who are on daily medications, who want to cleanse but cannot stop there meds. Also, if you are cleansing, be sure and add yogurt to your daily diet. Yogurt adds beneficial bacteria to your digestive system, and tastes a lot better than it sounds.

Colonix
OK, So I'm new here. I can't believe what a mix of feelings there are over this product. I was searching for someone who had at least finished the recommended 2-3 months. I am about to enter the 3rd month, but wasn't sure if I should continue. I guess I will see it out now!

I will start by saying that I didn't have major problems, I just wanted to clean myself out, and lose some weight.

I have never had any bm's that looked like the pictures on the site. I also did not have the headache and constipation troubles that some had mentioned on this forum. In fact, I feel pretty much the same as I did when I started.

The major thing that I noticed was the weight loss. I've lost 10 pounds in these 2 months. 178 to 168. As you may notice, I started right after the new year. I will not credit all 10 lbs to colonix, as I over ate during the holidays, and with a bit of will power, I probably would have lost a few without it.

I've been more conscious about my water intake - it was practically nil before i started this. I do believe you can over-do-it with the water, so I try to stay at around 70-80 oz. I found it easier to do this by drinking 16oz bottles of water from the store. I pull out five bottles, and pace myself during the day.

I've been more aware of my food portions too. If you eat slower, with smaller bites, you don't need that "American Sized" dinner! Eating more fruit and veggies, but not to the level that they say we should! One thing at a time!!

I do have some bloating and cramping. I am pretty sure that this would be normal, even though it is uncomfortable. I guess it would be hard to go through any kind of detox without feeling crappy.

I do have very, very bad gas sometimes. I'm trying to figure out if it is with a certain food, but it can last for 3 days at a time. The kind of gas that is so bad it wakes you up (and your wife!)

I get a lot of rumbling in my tummy (like Pooh, I guess!) Not sure what that means, but something must be going on in there.

I do not have the extra energy that some of the testimonials say they had. I'm hopping that maybe into the 3rd month, I might see a bit of that.

I also have not been very active during these 2 months. I really don't care to exercise, but i know I need to. I also tried to cut down on the beer I was drinking. It was too hard for me to quit, so i cut down. I was at 6-7 cans from dinner to bed, and now 3-5. Still more than I probably should, but I'm being honest with you! I am going to try to just have 1-2 a night this month. I am questioning whether the sugar from the alcohol is what is giving me the gas.

I am also going to walk on the treadmill on tuesday and thursday nights. Maybe that will cut out the beer those nights too! Walking a couple of nights might help with the cramping is my hope.

Well, there you have it. A 2 month trooper report. I hope that helped someone out there!

Good luck Smile

A couple of things more!
Whoops! I forgot to say that I am 37 years old.
I also forgot to say that I am most certainly way more regular than I was before. I used to go to the toilet 3-4 times a week. I thought that was pretty good. I go 2 times, maybe 3 in a day now. (this is for those who worry about timing) - I go right when i get up (7am), and again right before I leave for work(8:30). Lately I have been going one more time when i return home from work at about 4:30. My guess is that when i stop taking this stuff, I may be down to 1, maybe 2 a day.
bye!

Colonix Website
I found the Colonix website by typing "natural detox products" and came upon a site claiming to be a detox product ranking site. It showed several different products, each reviewed and ranked in order of effectiveness by a panel of "neutral" doctors.

Colonix was ranked #1, and when I read the second paragraph of the review, the following statement triggered my sucker alert mechanism..."thousands of satisfied customers can't be wrong". This statement, in and of itself, isn't always alarming nor untrue, however, a neutral panel of doctors just don't use this terminology of persuasion and they could care less about customers. They have patients, not customers. I knew right then and there that this "product ranking and review website" was anything but neutral. It was obvious that I was not reading medically inspired and sound advice, nor a legitimate authority site, It appears to have been created and composed specifically to sell Colonix.

Clicking through the site, the very graphic pictures were quite compelling for making a case for a Colonix. The website is a brilliant sales tool, and if not for the fact that I write product brochures, sales and marketing materials, and website content for the product my company sells, I would have been the first to buy as many bottles as my budget allows!

I then searched "Colonix rip-off reports"...wow...as predicted, this product has MANY complaints against it and the company that markets the product. The graphically demonstrated "colon matter" referenced on the website is shocking and compelling, but unfortunately, it is allegedly a by-product of the formulation that comprises Colonix.

This fact is terrifying to me, and it is dangerous, especially for someone who has diverticulitis, which runs in my family. It has affected everyone in my immediate family from the age of 30 and up, except, for some reason, me. I am the only one who has not been diagnosed with it, and I am 42. This is what prompted me to search for preventive products because I feel like I am doomed to get it based on my family history.

If Colonix is indeed responsible for this type of buildup in the colon, it can ABSOLUTELY be the catalyst in perforating existing diverticula and actually creating more of them within the colon. Perforation can lead to peritonitis which can kill you.

If you have or think you have diverticulitis, please stay away from any product that is responsible for the build up of "matter" within the colon, such as what the Colonix website pictures convey, and the expulsion of such matter. I cannot emphasize enough how detrimental walking around with that built up fiber matter is to anyone...diverticulitis or not!

For best results, have a true colonic procedure performed, or reference a book authored by a medical specialist in colonics for advice and recipes for natural and effective detoxification of the digestive system.

Colonix/Colonout
I used this product for 3 wks. It made me "speed". So much, that I had a really hard time sleeping, which resulted in very dark circles under my eyes. I did not have anything"unusual" in my bowel movement. I did not lose a pound. I spoke w/ a represt. from the co. and she said I might have to do it for 2 months, since I was a relatively healthy person. They could not find my order and I threw out my paperwork so they were not interested in giving me a refund. So save your paperwork.
