Day 5
I spent a lot of time researching the colonix program before I started taking it, and while I did find that are some risks, I felt they were no more than anything else I had to do to get through the day.
I actually spent two days systematically looking up each individual herb in the program to see what the potential side effects were.
this is what I found in addition to what the colonix site mentions...
1. people with gallbladder problems, liver conditions or ulcers need to avoid this product due to a few herbs that will exacerbate the condition.
2. you need to take probiotics while on this to replenish the good bacteria. (I just take to stuff from trader joes)
3. you NEED to drink a lot of water! many of the herbs in this program absorb liquid so you need to make sure there's enough water for you and for the herbs.
4. there is the potential risk of throwing off your electrolyte balance, due largely to the amount of water you consume, and some of these herbs can leech potassium from your system so sports drinks and at least one banana a day.

On top of all this I've been taking calcium, magnesium and zinc for the headaches and they seem to help for the most part.

I get headaches every day anyway so this is not an issue for me.

I haven't experienced any earth-shattering bm's so far but it's day 5 for me.
I started to feel better by the 2nd day, I'm always really constipated and bloated and I had indigestion for almost a week before I started the program. I didn't actually go to the bathroom until the day before yesterday, and it was hard. Yesterday was a little more comfortable, I went twice but still felt bloated. Today I've gone two or three times and my stomach has softened up a bit and it was a little easier. I feel like it's just taking it's time which is fine by me.

I think you just need to be aware of the risks as they apply to your own personal health and take the necessary precautions and of course pay close attention.

so far I have no complaints, I'll let you know if there are any changes.

Re: Colonix Colon Cleansing -- Update
Clarkless wrote:
So it's been about two weeks since I left a message on here. I see that other people are feeling as bad as I was.

I'm no longer taking any of the colonix. I did three weeks of it and that was enough. I had constant headaches and constipation since starting it. I also got constant cramps in my stomach. I ended up going to my doctor and told him about how I was feeling and I told him about the COlonix. He got mad at me and told me that he wished that I would've consulted with him about the COlonix, because he would've told me NOT to do it. Apparently, he's had other patients complain about Colonix. I wasn't the first. So. I stopped taking Colonix. I no longer have headaches or constipation or any of the other colonix side effects I was experienced.

I would not recommend Colonix to anyone considering it. Unless you like pain and feeling sick. Then yea, I would recommend Colonix.

If you don't like pain and feeling sick. Then Stay Away From Colonix!

ok. I hope everyone else is feeling better.

I have to say the product actually saved my life, so I am really sorry to hear it had a negative affect on you. I did have to adjust the cleanse slightly to work effectively for me but these where minor changes such as steeping the tea less and taking in less of the fiber. I felt great taking the colonix program. I have been using the program for many years and I have passed parasites similar to those seen on the web site. I also had to readjust my diet in order to maintain my health and well being. I suffered from many health problems that are now nonexistant and I am happier and healthier for it. Colonix for many people is a great product. I would recommend it to everyone - however as soon as you are experiencing challenges on the program make sure you call the help center and they will assist you to adjust the cleanse for your particular needs. Being constipated on the program after the first or second day would be a warning that you should call and ask what is happening. Ask no questions you get no solutions. I hope you are feeling better and on the way to total health and you find what works for you. Good Luck!

Let me share some of my knowledge with some of you..

First off ALL colon cleaning systems will have bad side effects, of at least minor cramps. They all require you to drink up to 80 oz of water a day. I doubt any of you drink that much water normally. Second, keep in mind everyones health, and bodies are different. Additional medications, and diets probably make things even more complex.

My mother has taken two types of colon cleanse systems. One I know for a fact, is Detox7 because Im looking at the instructions right now. I was going to take this, but I wanted to look further into other brands. My mother only complained of headaches, and minor cramps with a boost of energy afterward (this could be all in her head also - the placebo affect)

Herbs vs. Drugs

We all know who the FDA is right? None of these colon cleanse systems are FDA approved. Understand that many herbs have not been regularly tested. The FDA deals more with drugs, than herbs. I have to say that most drugs are bad news, even ones that help us. The FDA simply wont take the time and effort to find safer herbal alternatives. Not all herbs are good however. Some can be harmful. I can think of an herb right now, that is more powerfull than any hallucinogenic drug on the streets and basicly gives you a 70% chance or more of death. Understand, that herbs can be safer than drugs, but still hold a mystery to the medical field and could be dangerous to all if not some people.

About all this colon cleanse business

I am begining to second guess ALL colon cleansing systems. Why? Well, because I value my health. Reading this entire thread makes me realize there are risks involved. I do not take risks, even if they are a one in a million. The only way I would consider taking any colon cleansing product, if I had some type of long lasting problems of constipation like some of you have had. If you are fairly healthy like me, and just want to see aliens come out of you I would not suggest trying this.

DO NOT question my intelligence, for not trying colonix and saying all of this. Only an fool would risk his health, to possibly see a slight improvement. Gamble with money all you want, but not with your health.

Parasites?

If you are afraid of parasites in your body, dont be. First off, the most common parasites show up in young children. Thread Worms, especially, are not a problem if you are reading this more than likely. These worms are very contagious, so if your child has them then you probably will have them also. Worst case scenario, your whole family will have to go to the doctor and take some pills to rid them. Any other worm, or parasite you usually get in very tropical areas of the world. Usually what happens is you drink foreign water, or are bit by an infected mosquito. Thats what happens when you get major parasites, which will probably never happen to you.

Again, I would like to confirm that Colonix, or any other type of colon cleanse is not bad or good. It depends what type of person you are. Just dont believe everything you hear. Bad and good results can come from outside the colon cleanse systems as well. For example, people may have bad side affects because they are allergic to a specific herb, or someone may feel more energy because they forgot they drank an extra cup of coffee or its simply the placebo affect.

Personally, I would love to pick up some of this stuff and clean out my system because I have eaten a lot of junk over the years. I just have not convinced myself its worth the risk until I find out more information. If I did have to take one, I would take an oxygen based colon cleanse. These types use oxygen to break down everything, and liquify the bulk.

I just read about oxypowder which is basically a oxygen based cleanser...felt its much safer but haven't tried it tho. But the site didn't mention removal of parasites..only toxins.

Btw could you share more about parasites? very curious coz my stomach is really expanding in size/swelling tho I don't take a lot of food nowadays and excreted pretty often nowadays. Weird. and I'm worried...and it would take me about a mth to get to my specialist.

found it interesting..maybe u'll be interested too.

Colonix
I have been taking this product from Dr. natura for about 3 weeks or more. To be honest I was not sure about taking it when my boyfriend ordered it. He was going to try it and if it worked I was going to begin taking it. It did not quite work that way. Two days after he started it I was home sick from work throwing up, in pain and feeling so full because I was having major problems going to the bathroom and had been for a month or more. I was going maybe once a week and was to the point I was getting sick. That day he handed it to me and told me to take it, I needed it more than him and surely it would get enough out to make me feel better and not be so sick.

At 29 I never thought I would write a blog recommending a product for your BM but I am. I did not know how serious it could be to not go to the bathroom. I now know!! I am a real person and this product honestly saved my life. Little did I know that from not going to the bathroom for so long I could actually die. It took about 2 or 3 days for me to finally go because it was so bad but soon after I started the whole program ( a week) I had to be taken to the ER due to pain in my back and stomach. Almost every organ in my body had a massive infection and the infection was feces. I had so much backed up for so long the toxins released into my body from my intestines and attacked my organs and got into my blood. After discussing with my Dr.’s the product and how things had started changing and I was going to the bathroom finally and didn’t feel sick just in a lot of pain they told me if I had waited to take it much longer I may have very well died from it. They decided that because I had taken the product for a week and a lot of my intestines were being cleaned out and the toninout was washing the toxins out I managed to not suffer worse than I am still. Because of the product many of the toxins were being cleansed but I still had a very high amount in my body. I cannot imagine what those test would have been like if they had run them a week prior taking the product. Not only is the product amazing to me for obvious reasons I also have a nerve disease in my leg due to a surgery 2 years ago gone very wrong on my knee. I have had to take medicine for the constant twitching and pain in my leg for two years. About 5 months ago I stopped taking the medicine because I felt like it was actually hurting me more than it was helping me. The meds made me feel bad but kept me from basically having spasms all night and kept me still and free from pain so I could sleep but I felt terrible all day long. Since taking this product the Tea actually keeps me still at night and pain free and I sleep great. I know this from taking it one night and not the next and there is a vast difference in my body movements and sleep according to my boyfriend. The two night I tested it out and didn’t drink the tea he got no sleep because I shook the bed from body spasms.

I am sorry this is long but I want you to have an idea of what this can do for you. Aside from the pain I am just now getting over from the toxins caused by constipation the product is a god send and a life saver. Not only am I feeling 100% better you can see in my face and my boyfriends, who is also taking it now, face the difference in our skin since we are getting ride of these toxins in our body. I would recommend it to everyone having problems with BM.

After a Month of Colonix
I'm sending it back.

It didn't make me sick or anything, and I'm actually considering continuing the paranil, but honestly, it didn't do ANYTHING.

I didn't feel any better, still had bloating and I was going less than I usually do which is only a couple times a week as it is.
I followed it to the t but it just didn't work for me. everybody's different. I started going a little more after I stopped taking it though.

think maybe I'll just try metamucil, some people have said they get similar results from it and it's much cheaper, maybe some flax seed or something.

I'm glad it's worked for some of you, and to others that are taking it, good luck.

Sorry to hear about the bad experiences. I was on Colonix for just one month because of money reasons but still had a good experience. The 1st thing I noticed they very next day after starting was lots and lots of sesame seeds in my stool. While I don't think they were actually doing any harm being stuck in me I took it as a very good sign that this product was indeed doing SOMETHING down there. Over the next month my BMs went from an average of one a day to around 2-3 a day alternating between normal looking and "ropey" sometimes a single stool being half & half. Note that I had been eating healthy for at least a year before this cleanse. It also seemed to help my chest acne which was one of my goals for trying it. It certainly didn't cure it but then again I didn't do the recommended 2-3 months. After about a month I'd lost around 5 pounds.

I have been using colonix for 8 years now and I just love the product. I believe it saved my life. When I first started the program I did experience some cramping before a bm and when I called the help desk they were very friendly and helped me to adjust the cleanse slightly to work for me. I found that any time I called the help desk they really treated me well and I never felt that any question I asked was a dumb one. The product speaks for itself and the customer service is a great bonus and that the company has been around for quite a few years tells the story. Reputable product that has helps millions of people. DrNatura gets my 2 thumbs up.

Colonix Works For Me
I had used it for one month. Now I uses it occasionally when I am constipated.

My diet consists of lots of processed carbs. When I get really bloated and have lots of gas, I would use Colonix to get relief.

If I don't drink enough water, the products would not be effective and make me more bloated. I noticed that I tend to drink less water if I drink other beverages like Green Tea.

I steep the Kleri tea for 20 minutes or more.

I tried colonics (aka colon hydrotherapy) first before I discovered Colonix. Colonics is good for instant relief. I think Colonix does a better cleaning job but it takes longer time. Colonix is much cheaper than colonics. Colonix is a bit expensive but it is worth the price if it works for the individual and improve his/her quality of life. It is actually recommended to me by my colon hydrotherapist who also has a masters degree in nutrition. The product has money back guarantee so it's not like I was taking a big risk when I ordered it.

I tried a different brand of colon cleansing product before I tried Colonix. The other product was not as effective and there were a lot of pills to take.

I am surprised that many people have problems with Colonix. But then every individual is different. I would recommend seeing a really good oriental medicine doctor who can give you a get better understanding of your intestinal problem.

Has Anyone Tried Perfect Cleanse By Garden of Life?
I was just about to hit process order on the Colonix site when I started reading this forum and you guys scared me off. I actually did try Colonix a couple of years ago and returned it because nothing really seemed to be happening.

I then healed myself of IBS, constipation, acne and excess weight by doing a pretty massive cleanse on my own, drinking only green drinks and lots of water and some fruits and vegetables for several weeks. I took lots of ground flax seeds and some psyllium, and took Primal Defense, a probiotic from Garden of Life. I took lots of supplements too, some cleansing herbs like cascara and senna I think, and found that flax seed oil and especially primrose oil worked miracles. Oh, and I can't forget about coconut oil! It's wonderful too. I cut out all sugar, milk products, all white foods, rarely ate any flours (if I did have flour it was only spelt and tried to make sure it was sprouted), and I went for a few colonic irigations. The results were spectacular - I dropped weight incredibly fast, slept like a baby, and had the softest skin all over ever - even my husband noticed. It was great.

Except that then Christmas came, and someone left a box of shortbreads in the back room at my work. That started my decline, and I feel like I have been addicted to sugar ever since then. I have started out so many days vowing to cleanse again, only to get to 11am and have such powerful cravings for cookies or chocolate that I just give in and say I'll do it tomorrow. Now two years later, I am back on many foods I know I shouldn't (although I do stay away from white flour). I've put all the weight back on, have skin problems, and my IBS has returned, although it's not as bad as it was.

So I've been looking for something that will kickstart me back to where I was able to give up sugar without a problem, and thought of Colonix. After reading the warnings here I hesitated, and then remembered the Perfect Cleanse from Garden of Life that I read about on Dr. Mercola's site and thought I'd try it since I usually respect his opinion and it's much, much cheaper (and shorter) than Colonix. I'm hoping that this may get me over that urge to binge on sugar.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions or experience with Perfect Cleanse?

Dr. Nutura's Colonix Program
Hi, I just saw your message about not seeing any leathery like stuff with the Colonix Program. Well let me tell you, I live in Mexico City and I even get a friend to bring me this stuff. I get exactly that and it is unbelievable!! I really was skeptical myself at the beginning. I have gotten the 3 months supply and only in my first month I see this stuff. So there you go. Guess thats good. I do feel better and all claims on their website Dr. Nutura. for me have been right on. yes

It does work
First off if it doesn't work for you I don't know why, but it isn't a hoax. If you read the ingredients that is in paranil you will see it is natural herbs and things that some people have everyday. If you look up home remedies on any of the symptoms related to your colon you will see that it lists many if not all of the herbs. Also the same as when you look up how to rid your self of worms/parasites, it will say things like: garlic, root, etc, all the ingredients on paranil.

There may be side effects to this cleanser because some people cannot take certain foods or may have discomforts to them as their body isn't used to a lot of these herbs which would subside with time and exposure to them.

The reason why you go more when you take the tea and go less when you don't is because the tea is almost like a laxative, that is the idea of the tea to build everything up (natually) and help you get rid of them in the morning. That is why they have directions on how to gain "the best benefit" from the program. Other wise it may actually take longer to get results but you still will get them.

Parnil ingredients really do kill worms, ask a naturapathist. look it up.
the fibre is just good for you on your own, most North americans dont have anywhere near the amount of fibre they should have and fibre helps you eleminate waste. Doesn't anyone watch OPRAH with Dr Oz. jk.
I am a student nurse so a lot of my statements here are what I have learned in school and I just linked it to things that colonix uses. One thing to remember is if you feel yucky on the system make sure you drink enough water, you could be dehydrated. Also the enzymes they recommend you get are important in that because you are eleminating a lot of stuff you are also loosing your natural bacteria and these enzymes help replace them and help your body do what it is supposed to.

Dr Naturas site does say a lot of this on there, its just not all gathered together and its easy to miss. They also have a contact number where they encourage anyone to call and they will answer your questions. They also state on their site that with some health conditions you should contact a doctor. so the person with the gall bladder problem or anyone really who isnt "healthy" should check with your doctor or email on the dr natura website.

I really need help!!
I am actually on my 14th day of the colonix program and I am having terrible problems. I have followed the exact directions to the 'T', been drinking TONS of water (definitely more than I need to in one day), been eating healthy, and moving around as much as I can. The problem is, I haven't felt any better...in fact, I feel terrible!
I have a constant headache paired with a stomach ache (especially after I finish drinking water), weakness, constipation, cramping that feels more like a sharp knife than dull aching, and terrible foul-smelling gas. Like I said, I have been doing everything that I am supposed to do and I don't know if I should stick with it or just stop. I really feel terrible!!

If anyone has any advice as to what I should do, I would REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks,
Sara
