I had achalasia (food getting stuck when trying to swallow) and had a laporascopic heller myotomy. I'm not sure if that is the same surgery or not... But I can tell you about my experience.

:cry: had heller myotomy, that didn't work so I had oesophagectomy last october which left 2 inches of oesophagus (gullet) left. It is this portion of gullet that is now giving me pain. Saw specialist on monday and he wishes me to have a rest. Will not do further surgery unless referred again.

I have the wierdest pain right now in my throat. Its not like a sore throat where its super rough and hurts to cough, but it feels like there is lil muscles in there lol and they hurt super bad. This is the worsst my throat have ever hurt or close to anyway. It hurts sooooo bad to swallow, and it feels really tight. It could be my tonsils im not sure, but damn does it hurt!!! So annoying!! If I take an advil the pain goes away for like 4 hrs but then comes back but I have to stop taking advil because I have already taken too much. This throat better go away. Its been over a week now!!!
