Cold Sores
Posted: 06-24-05 21:10pm

I've gotten coldsores all my life, and since I lost my spleen in an accident, I get them all the time now...As people with this condition knows, it can ruin your social life. Is there anything on the market that can get rid of them asap? All the over the counter stuff is more for relief than curing

Cold sores are herpies symplex...Once you get them ,its permanant.I also suffer from cold sores, but I get gaps of months inbetween each burst.

I use blitz or cymex, you need to put it on as soon as you feel a cold sore develope. The usual tingling feeling you get,the sooner you add the cream the better because it speeds up the process and disapears quicker.Or it may not even appear.

Good luck,i know how you feel

Try the Cold Sore Eliminator

You may want to try the cold sore eliminator. You can find it on skymall or the shipping is cheaper at www.Eliminatecoldsores.Com .
It is the first non-invasive product we found that stops our cold sore outbreaks. Let me know if it helps.

I Get Them Too

I also get them. Not all the time. Just every once in a while. I use carmex. It takes them away in like two days. If that.
Also put tooth paste (the paste not gel) on it and let it dry it out. I have done that before and that works too.

a pharmacist will say the same, not alot can be done but using cold sore treatments..Once you contact herpies symplex its there to stay and will flare up at anytime. Best thing not to do when getting cold sores in touching them as you will spread them all aorund your mouth and irritate them even more.

Ya cold sores can be really gay. Ive had my fair share of them and damn do they hurt. As for a product there isnt a hole lot you can do to make them go away. Alot of ppl put sault on them ( I dont know if that does anything or not) but it cleans them out im sure it burns like hell lol. However you can get oragel which will stop the pain and you wont even notice its there. But as for completely getting rid of it that might be hard to do.

You will never get rid of them once you get them...They are herpies symplex which means its in your system for good.

It can lay dorment for months or even years before you get another attack...You may get 1 cold sore at a time or lots at one time.
They are very unbridictable

I didn't mean get rid of them for good, although that would be awesome. No I meant getting rid of them quick once the pop up....Wishing for herpes to never appear again is like wishing for hurricanes never to hit florida...Just ain't logical

My Dr. Gave me a prescription for zovirax pills. They work wonderfully. As soon as I get the tingling feeling, I start popping the pills, usually 1 five times a day. It gets rid of it in 2-3 days. There is also a zovirax balm but this didn't work for me.

Good luck, they're so painful and embarrassing.

There is a bunch of jels you can get for cold sores. I get them once and a while and they are a pain in the ass. Your best bet would be to get something prescribed from the doctor.

If your cold sore is getting bigger, does that mean its getting better or worse?
