I am a 21 year old female. For the past 2 years I have been sick in my stomach in the morning. I have tried eating breakfast, drinking milk, drinking soda, drinking water, not eating, not drinking anything and it all results in an upset stomach. I sometimes have a headache too. I usually get at least 8 hours of sleep. I don't eat very regularly though. It usually wears off in 2-3 hours. Is there something wrong with me? Should I have some tests taken? The stomach ache is being outwayed by the annoyance of it all. Someone help!

It sounds like a "morning sickness" case to me. Maybe u are pregnant?! Have u done any home pregnancy test?

When I was pregnancy, I was just lilke you, couldnt eat, couldnt sleep or drink...It was horrible..And for me it was worst coz they dont go away for a long time, and I was so sick and weak that I couldnt go to school...And that caused me some bad grades!

I suggest u go checked out and just be sure about this.

I have taken home pregnancy tests and they have all come back negative.

Pregnancies only last 9 months. This "morning sickness" has started two years ago. Even before I was having sex. So I ruled that out. In the past 2 weeks my stomach has been upset on a lot of meals.

Don't know what it could be.

Oh........... My mistake, when I read ur message, I thought it was 2 months...And now I realized it was 2 years!!! Wow....Sorry!

In that case, I think u really better check with a doctor. I never heard of that before.

My mom was kinda like that when she was younger but she had much serious stomache pain, do you have sharp pain in ur upper abs?

It's not sharp pain at all. It's just upset. As if I need to eat something, or something I ate made it upset.

I also had problems with having an upset stomach when I was worried about something. In high school, I used to be sick when I had a big test the next day or a big report to do. More recent, any big decision I have to make or already made.

I can't see that I would be that worried about something for two years though. Plus only in the morning.

Sorry
The first part of the message that I sent got cut off...

I have the same problem. Sharp pain I would think would be associated with kidney stones. It's not sharp pain at all. It's just upset. As if I need to eat something, or something I ate made it upset.

"morning Sickness"
May I recommend trying to eat protein at night before you go to sleep? See if that helps in the morning.

Another possibility is that you are perhaps getting a little dehydrated. You don't want to drink too much before going to bed (don't want to be getting up to pee all night!), but double check your liquid intake, that you are getting a full 8 glasses of water (or other non-dehydrating drink -- not soda or alcohol, for example) each day and see if that makes a difference.

Good luck!

Morning Sickness
Hi there,

this might sound like a wierd question but do you smoke? Also what are your eating habits like and what do you eat? I am usually sick in the mornings but I have acid reflux and the acid in my stomach doesn't drain right. After all night of lying down I feel sick in the mornings. I have found ways to control it. Let me know if you want some info.

Keep smiling,
jenn

I do not smoke, jenn. Over the past 2-3 months though, I have been drinking lots and lots of water. On average about 120 oz. Per day. I have been feeling better in the mornings. But the earlier I wake up the worse it is.

Have you visited a gastrologist? Two years is a long time.
Do you actually vomit?
Do you have sinus drainage?
Could you link it to a food(s)?
Is it *every* morning or just most?
Are you stressed out?
Do you have any other symptoms?

Hugs,

My god, 2 years? I wouldn't let it last a few days!! You need to see a specialist right away, this is not healthy. In the meantime, use some gravol to help you sleep and b6 before eating. Prego woman use b6 to help nausea. I've used it, it works.

I've had a lot of stress in the last two years. I moved out of my parents house. I've had problems with my parents, financial troubles, relational, and emotional problems. I would say it was stress, but I am fine when I wake up after 8am. I don't know if my stomach doesn't have time to "digest" stuff, or if my stomach acids just lay in my stomach?? I have tried eating before I go to bed, as much as a whole meal, to as little as a small snack.

Thanks for all your help and advice.

Sick to Stomach In Moring
I have had this also for last 3 years or longer. They gave me pills for acid reflux. But I am still getting sick. It is right before I have a bowel movement. I get so sick I have thrown up. I just feel something more has to be wrong to get this sick and only in mornings. Something isn't right. There has to be someone out there that knows whats going on. It is awful.

This Is So Me Too!
I've been having this "morning sickness" on and off, since I was little and its always when I wake up early in the mornings (around 7-9am.) The symptoms go away by lunchtime, but its so awful that I wish I knew what it was. In high school, I missed quite a bit of school for this and the doctors did test after test, and never found anything. We finally gave up on it.

The drs. thought for awhile that i may have acid reflux, so i was given meds for that, and it didnt help any. Yeah, I agree...this HAS to be SOMETHING! (I've been pregnant before and this is not morning sickness and I've never smoked marijuana...there was another post that said one of the causes may be from smoking marijuana).

Stomach sickness flare ups
Me too,

I have had the same morning sickness for the last 12 years on and off. It comes and goes but is with me a lot. It is quite debilitating. By around lunch time it seems to pass. It makes me really fatigued because i have diarrhoea with it, sometimes up to 4 or 5 bouts. I also wake up feeling this groggy, fuzzy feeling in my head when i know that my stomach sickness is bad.

I have had so many tests done by doctors, i have stopped drinking alcohol, drink plenty of water and i watch exactly what i eat and nothing seems to help or give me any indication as to what it is.
I call them flare ups, when the stomach sickness hits me and after so much research into it i believe that it is something to do with my immune system being overactive. This may be way off the mark, but it seems to coincide with when i have bad hayfever bouts and sinus problems. I read earlier that people have mentioned sinus drainage being a possible cause. I don't know, but maybe it's related.

I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist in 2 weeks finally after all this time because it stops me from being able to work. I am hoping i can finally resolve this.

Hello all,

I just came across this blog and the description kind of fits me...For over 3 years, I wake up every morning and throw up from the time that I wake up until about lunchtime. Like everyone aboce, I have tried everything for eating different things before I go to bed, when I wake up, avoiding certain foods all together. Nothing works. I have had almost every test known to man regarding stomach issues. I have tried almost every medicine as well. Right now I am on Zofran, it is an anti-nausau medicince that chemo patients use. It seems to work the majority of the time. Although, when I still do get sick, the sickness is so severe that I am not able to go to work and after lunchtime when it slows down, I am so drained that I have no energy to do anything. I hope all that are having these problems figure out what is going on. I know that is has become a huge problem in my life, I actually had a head on collision two years ago in result of continue to have the nausua and throwing up. Good luck to you all!!

Morning sickness, in guys too. :(
Everyone here has mentioned they are female.. I'm a male, 19 years old for as long as I can remember I've been having these exact same issues. If I wake up early then I am almost unable to function until at least lunch time.
I've been diagnosed with Acid-Reflux, and Lactose Intolerance.
As with everyone else, I've been watching what I eat, drinking lots of water. Nothing seems to help, I haven't even been able to find medication that helps.
I don't drink (alcohol), smoke or do any sort of drugs.
This has been a severe problem in my life. I don't know what to do about it, but I really need help. Sad
Good luck to all, I hope you all feel better!

I am 24 and have these problems lately with diffrent levels of severity. I will wake up at 4-6 some morning. Some times I feel so hungry no food sounds good to eat cause I think it will make me sick. Its like being in the ocean with no fresh water. I will vomit a handful of times mostly acid.sometimes so bad I can't breathe because I just keep dry heaving. It does go away by around ten. I have had it last for two days where I can't eat anything without throwing up. I have not smoke canabis in two years but started cause it is the only thing that helps me eat and get rid of the sickness right away. I have eaten before I have gone to bed. And gone with out. No help. I have a bad matress so I get terrible sleep. And always tired I mow lawns 9 hours a day so I am worn out. Also bad allergies. Maybe a combination of no sleep acid reflux, sinus drainage at nite and generasl fatigue?
It is a terrible feeling to wake up like this. Its a mental hell
