Three years ago, I went to a new doctor (we had just moved to the area) because I started having panic attacks. I went several times because of issues with this. Everytime, my blood pressure was 140/90 or slightly higher. I weighed around 150 pounds at this time and had anxiety most of the time. The doctor put me on atenenol because she thought that it could improve both my blood pressure and anxiety. When I first started taking it, I felt great and had no side effects. At my next visit, my blood pressure had dropped ten points and stayed there for a while.
Now, I still suffer from anxiety. I have also developed anorexia and am underweight, almost 50 pounds lighter. I am developing depression. When I am not feeling anxiety, I am tired. My blood pressure is much lower. At my last visit it was 110/60.
Depression and fatigue are possible atenenol side effects. I suppose that they could have developed from the poor nutrition that I have had, but I am taking vitamins now and trying to eat. Could the medication start causing side effects though since I am underweight and lower blood pressure?
I don't want to get high blood pressure again, but I don't want to be tired and depressed either. I am only 27. If I am underweight and have high blood pressure, don't I posssibly have other problems going on? I realize that this is a medicine that if you've been on for a while that you don't just quit it all of a sudden. It is possible, though, right? Even after 3 years? I do want to have children someday too after I get my problems sorted out and now this isn't a drug that you stay on pregnant.
