wait, you're going to name him jordan anthony? Is that is his first name, or is that his full name? I seriously hope that anthony is your last name, or a middle name, because this kid is going to have it rough in school and life, particularly when it comes to finding a job when he grows up.

this article investigates the issue of employers not hiring people with "ethnic" names. Heres a quote from the report:

Quote:
tiqua gator says people just can’t seem to get her name right. But she says her real burden runs even deeper. She’s concerned about getting a better job, and sees her name as a potential handicap.

Gator has come to believe she’d have an easier time lining up a job in her chosen field of marketing if she had a plain name like jane.

but hey, if you were a responsible adult and parent looking out for your kids future, then you already knew this

oh my god, how is that rude? I'm telling you what I think, and if you can't take criticism to that degree, then don't post.

I'm trying to look out for you, and making sure that you don't make a mistake which could bite you in the ass (financially). And you said "boyfriend" which I really hopes turns into "husband" because children conceived out of wedlock have a tougher time in life.

But as a responsible adult ready for parenthood, you should of known this also.

I love that name!! I named my youngest jordan, I think it's suitable for either gender.
Good decision.

how is that true? First off, my friend's lil sister is named destiny rae (her first name) and their parents aren't married? Not to mention, they never had a tough life, my friend always had loving parents and destiny rae gets everything she needs. She has lots of friends, goes to a good school, takes 8 dance classes... I don't see how that's a tough life.

i am not understanding where you are saying ..."mistake which could bite you in the ass (financially)..." what in the world do finances of this girl and her boyfriend have anything to do with the name (which is a good name) and whether or not the baby was conceived out of wedlock?? I for one was conceived out of wedlock, and seem to be just fine in life. I am working a full time job in a bank and attending a university full time. Not really sure what you are trying to say?!

by the way, it is "should have known", not "should of known".

:) I am usually not that rude, however when someone likes to act like they know everything, and it is obvious they are just "spouting off with their mouth", I can't help but get a little "hot"! And trust me, I don't know everything!! I really do like this forum, because everyone is entitled to their own opinions! It is kind of nice to let your voice be heard, however there is a tactful way and a tacky way to do so! Let's just keep everyone's feelings in our thoughts before we say something that could be hurtful! :)
