Has anyone ever had a hormone imbalance be the cause of their depression? And what vitamins can a person take to help? Why is it so hard to explain this illness to my family and friends? Love a reply

Not sure about hormonal imbalance. Try salmon oil, it's supposed to be good for depression. As for family and friends, i'm there and doing that. Some friends quit talking to me after I tried to commit suicide, when we knew I was depressed but not how severly. Others have been really good. My family tries but they have no clue. When I get really depressed they get mad at me like it's me fault and I like feeling that way. I have told them I would rather blow my brains out or run my car into a power-pole than feel that way and I wish that my husband had just left me on floor the first time to commit suicide. My mom has sympathy for others with depression, but when I need her most she quits coming around and talking to me or is really mean and says hateful things to me. I just wish they could trade places with me for one day when I feel like that. Just know your not alone. I saw that you're from canada. Which part? Went to b.C. Once and loved it. Always wanted to go back. Hang in there! Smile

I'm sorry I have never heard of hormonal imbalance due to depression only chemical imbalance. As for family....I have a few disorders such as: a panic disorder, anxiety disorder and trichotillomania. All are very difficult to explain to others who are not in the same frame of mind as you are. They cannot understand why I fear stepping outside of my door or why sometimes death seems better then being alive. I don't even bother trying to explain to anyone anymore.
Stacey_ your a very courageous woman and have been through alot. I truly admire your strength in all of this honey. Smile
